Electroencephalography is instrumental in understanding neurophysiological mechanisms underlying working memory. While numerous studies have associated electroencephalography features to working memory, understanding causal relationships leads to better characterization of the neurophysiological mechanisms that are directly linked to working memory. Personalized causal modeling is a tool to discover these direct links between brain features and working memory performance.

Delirium is the most common in-hospital complication affecting older adults with acute hip fractures. Current evidence demonstrates inconsistent associations between anaesthetic type for acute hip fracture surgery and postoperative delirium. Using the Australian and New Zealand Hip Fracture Registry database, we conducted a retrospective cohort study of patients aged 50 years and over who underwent acute hip fracture surgery between 2015 and 2020.

Water diversions can mitigate water scarcities by strategically reallocating water resources. Despite their benefits, these interventions may profoundly affect biodiversity and multiple ecological functions ("multifunctionality") within highly managed lake systems. However, the specific impact of such interventions on the relationship between biodiversity and multifunctionality remains elusive, which limits our grasp of how water regulation shapes the dynamics of managed lake ecosystems.

Electronic address:

Introduction: Behcet's syndrome, as a vasculitic disease involving multiple systems, often induces oral mucosal ulcers. However, levels of inflammatory cytokines and metabolites are unknown for the probability of developing the disease. This study aims to reveal the causal relationship between the cytokines and metabolites and Behcet's syndrome through Mendelian randomization analysis.
