Background: Pancreatic cancer is highly aggressive and has a low survival rate primarily due to late-stage diagnosis and the lack of effective early detection methods. We introduce here a novel, noninvasive urinary extracellular vesicle miRNA-based assay for the detection of pancreatic cancer from early to late stages.
Methods: From September 2019 to July 2023, Urine samples were collected from patients with pancreatic cancer (n = 153) from five distinct sites (Hokuto Hospital, Kawasaki Medical School Hospital, National Cancer Center Hospital, Kagoshima University Hospital, and Kumagaya General Hospital) and non-cancer participants (n = 309) from two separate sites (Hokuto Hospital and Omiya City Clinic).
Case Report and literature review: Delayed diagnosis of ARCL1B due to a newly reported homozygous mutation c.464A>C p. (Tyr155Ser) in the gene.

Background: Autosomal recessive cutis laxa type 1B (ARCL1B) is an extremely rare disease characterized by severe systemic connective tissue abnormalities, including cutis laxa, aneurysm and fragility of blood vessels, birth fractures and emphysema. The severity of this disease ranges from perinatal death to manifestations compatible with survival. To date, no cases have been reported in the Chinese population.

By the time patients exhibit noticeable symptoms, the disease has typically progressed to middle or late stages, missing optimal treatment opportunities. Therefore, discovering biomarkers is essential for elucidating their functions for the early diagnosis and prevention.

To the best of our knowledge, no study has evaluated the characteristics of testicular torsion in childhood, a less common age group. This study showed differences in patients' characteristics between childhood and adolescence and the variation across ages.

Early diagnosis and prompt management are essential to prevent severe complications such as vascular or respiratory compromise. We report a case of a 23-year-old male who presented to our emergency department five days after a high-energy motor vehicle accident with isolated, closed posterior dislocation of the SCJ.
