Aims: The REDUCE-AMI trial showed that beta-blockers in patients with preserved left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) had no effect on mortality or cardiovascular outcomes. The aim of this substudy was to evaluate whether global longitudinal strain (GLS) is a better prognostic marker than LVEF, and if beta-blockers have a beneficial effect in patients with decreased GLS.
Methods And Results: REDUCE-AMI was a registry-based randomized clinical trial.

Burn injuries in patients with significant pre-existing medical conditions provide unique challenges in both medical management and surgical planning. Spasticity, if left untreated, can be one of the most disabling consequences of a neurologic injury. Treatment is largely dependent on pharmacologic management with anti-spasmodic agents such as baclofen.

Unlabelled: Introduction Acute heart failure (AHF) is a life-threatening condition that requires swift diagnosis and tailored management to enhance patient outcomes. In the pursuit of more precise prognostic indicators, Tricuspid Annular Plane Systolic Excursion (TAPSE) and Pulmonary Arterial Systolic Pressure (PASP) have emerged as potential significant advancements. The TAPSE/PASP ratio, a novel parameter, has recently gained attention as a promising predictor of outcomes in acute heart failure.

Introduction: Management of patients with large aortic arch aneurysms who are considered high risk for frozen elephant trunk technique have been challenging, especially when they have a dilated ascending aorta (AA) that precludes total endovascular branched repair (arch BEVAR). A viable option in our armamentarium is wrapping of the AA (AW), and zone 0 Ishimaru TEVAR.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of our aortic database from 2013 to 2024 to select high-risk patients with aortic arch aneurysm that had an AW and TEVAR.
