Increasing rates of antimicrobial resistance has accelerated global efforts to reduce antibiotic use. While antibiotic resistance poses a significant threat, especially in low-income settings, there is a scarcity of research on how people in such environments, including refugee camps, access and use antibiotics. This article explores factors that contribute to the shaping of antibiotic use in Shatila refugee camp in Lebanon.

Importance: An emergency department (ED) physician's decision to admit a patient to the hospital plays a pivotal role in determining the type and intensity of care that patient will receive. ED physicians vary widely in their propensity to admit patients to the hospital, but it is unknown whether higher admission propensities result in lower subsequent mortality rates.
Objective: To measure the variation in ED physicians' admission propensities and estimate their association with patients' subsequent mortality rates.

Background: The introduction of enhanced recovery programmes (ERP) in pancreatic surgery has significantly improved clinical outcomes by decreasing the length of hospital stay, cost and complications without increasing readmissions and reoperations. To complement evidence on these outcomes, there is a need to explore patients' perspectives of a structured ERP. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of patients before and after implementing ERP in pancreaticoduodenectomy ad modum Whipple (PD) at a regional surgical centre.

Background: The objectives were to determine the prevalence of de novo and persistent pelvic pain after benign hysterectomy and to assess risk factors.
Methods: A Swedish prospective multicenter study of 440 women undergoing benign hysterectomy was conducted between October 2011 and March 2017. Measures of pain, the spatial extent of bodily pain, and pain sensitivity were assessed using a self-reporting questionnaire, Margolis's patient pain drawing, and quantitative sensory testing of pain thresholds for pressure, heat, and cold, respectively.

Importance: Childhood adverse experiences have been linked with long-term risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), yet the transgenerational associations between interparental behaviors and CVD remain poorly understood.
Objectives: To explore the association between exposure to childhood interparental physical violence and the subsequent risk of CVD and to examine whether the association is modified by adult depressive symptoms.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This population-based cohort study included data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), an ongoing study recruiting individuals aged 45 years or older, dated between June 1, 2011, and December 31, 2020, with a follow-up duration of 9 years.
