We describe a method for expanding the linear dynamic range for multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) in quantitative liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) using additional transitions for isotopologues. In addition to the regular transition for the highest possible sensitivity, a transition corresponding to the less abundant isotopologue ions was utilized. This decreases saturation at the ion detector; the sensitivity reduction increases the upper dynamic limit. We demonstrated this for a rat plasma assay for a candidate flavor compound; the linear dynamic range increased by an order of magnitude from 3 to 6,000 ng/mL with the regular MRM alone to 3-60,000 ng/mL using additionally the isotopologue transition.

The cardiovascular kidney metabolic (CKM) syndrome is a dynamic geriatric condition that has received limited research attention regarding its potential associations with the triglyceride glucose (TyG) index. This study aims to explore the potential association between the TyG index and advanced CKM syndrome. Data for this cross-sectional study were obtained from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) conducted between 2011 and 2018.

Background: Patients with type 1 diabetes (DM1), even in the setting of adequate glycaemic control, have an excess risk for developing cardiovascular disease. Residual insulin secretion (RIS), measured by detectable C-peptide levels in patients with DM1, might protect against diabetes-related complications. This study aimed to examine the relationship between residual insulin secretion and prognostic markers of cardiovascular complications in patients with DM1.

This study delves into the multi-scale temporal and spatial variations of soil heat flux (G) within riparian zones and its correlation with net radiation (Rn) across six riparian woodlands in Shanghai, each characterized by distinct vegetation types. The objective is to assess the complex interrelations between G and Rn, and how these relationships are influenced by varying vegetation and seasons. Over the course of a year, data on G and Rn is collected to investigate their dynamics.

Heart rate response to physical activity is widely investigated in clinical and training practice, as it provides information on a person's physical state. For emerging digital phenotyping approaches, there is a need for individualized model estimation. In this study, we propose a zero-poles model and a data-driven evolutionary learning method for identification.
