We show a comparative study of the TiO2 ALD with TTIP and either O2 or O2-plasma on Si/SiO2 substrates. In particular we compare the surface morphology and crystalline phase by means of Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS) for different O2-plasma procedures upon changing the time between cycles and the N2-purging pressure. The AFM images show that already these parameters may induce structural changes in the TiO2 films grown by ALD, with the formation of crystallites with average lateral width varying between 15 and 80 nm. By means of XAS we also found that the crystallites have mixed anatase and rutile crystalline phases and that smaller crystallites have a greater rutile component than the larger ones.

The use of metal oxide catalysts to enhance plasma CO reduction has seen significant recent development towards processes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and produce renewable chemical feedstocks. While plasma reactors are effective at producing the intended chemical transformations, the conditions can result in catalyst degradation. Atomic layer deposition (ALD) can be used to synthesize complex, hierarchically structured metal oxide plasma catalysts that, while active for plasma CO reduction, are potentially vulnerable to degradation due to their high surface area and nanoscopic thickness.

The growing modern industry has promoted the development of gas sensors for environmental monitoring and safety checks. However, the traditional chemical resistance gas sensor still has some disadvantages such as high power consumption and limited detection, mainly due to the lack of charge transfer ability of sensing materials. In this paper, an ordered UV-activated gas sensor with mesoporous ZnO/TiO nanotube composite was prepared by precisely controlling the growth of ZnO on the inner wall of TiO nanotube.

Protein phosphorylation is an important post-translational modification that regulates almost all cellular processes, such as cellular metabolism, growth, differentiation, signal transduction, and gene regulation. Mass spectrometry, which acts as an automated and sensitive method, enables global analysis of protein phosphorylation. However, several technical challenges need to be addressed when analyzing protein phosphorylation in a global manner.

Chemical control of head blight (FHB) in wheat plants is often challenged by the resistance outbreak and deoxynivalenol (DON) accumulation. Developing green partners for fungicides is crucial for reducing fungal growth, mycotoxin contamination, and agricultural fungicides input. Herein, we investigated the mechanism of MgO nanoparticles (NPs) in controlling FHB.

This study investigates the optical, mechanical, and antimicrobial properties of polypropylene (PP) fibers enhanced with titanium dioxide (TiO) and zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles. Using a Mach-Zehnder interferometric system, we examined the refractive indices, birefringence, and opto-mechanical behavior of blank PP, PP/TiO, and PP/ZnO nanocomposite fibers under various conditions, including different polarization orientations and during cold drawing processes. The 2D Fourier transform algorithm is employed to analyze interferometric data, enabling precise measurements of refractive index profiles and birefringence.
