Guy's Hospital and its medical school rejoiced in a remarkable group of physicians in the 19th century. These included Richard Bright, a pioneer in the study of chronic nephritis, Thomas Addison, who described two diseases that bear his name (Addison's disease of the suprarenals and Addison's, or pernicious, anaemia), Thomas Hodgkin, who gave the first clear account of lymphadenoma and Sir William Gull, who documented myxoedema, its relationship to the thyroid and its resemblance to cretinism in children.

Two human induced pluripotent stem cell lines, LEIi021-A and LEIi021-B, were derived from dermal fibroblasts from a healthy control subject from an Australian Aboriginal family with retinitis pigmentosa-11. Reprogramming was performed using episomal vectors expressing OCT4, SOX2, LIN28, L-MYC, KLF4 and mp53DD. Pluripotency markers were expressed in both LEIi021-A and LEIi021-B lines.

Background: Lung cancer in Australia contributes 9% of all new cancer diagnoses and is the leading cause of cancer death and burden. Clinical practice guidelines provide evidence-based treatment recommendations for best practice management. We aimed to determine the extent of delivery of guideline-concordant treatment (GCT) and to identify modifiable variables influencing receipt of GCT and survival.

Purpose: Spinal stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) has become the standard of care in management of patients with limited sites of metastatic disease, radioresistant histologies, painful vertebral metastases with long life expectancy and cases of reirradiation. Our case-based guidelines aim to assist radiation oncologists in the appropriate utilization of SBRT for common, yet challenging, cases of spinal metastases.
Methods And Materials: Cases were selected to include scenarios of large volume sacral disease with nerve entrapment, medically inoperable disease abutting the thecal sac, and local failure after prior SBRT.
