Background: The pre-extraction overbuilding procedure was designed aiming to mitigate buccal bone resorption following tooth extraction. The objective of this study was to compare the efficacy of pre-extraction and juxta-extraction buccal overbuilding treatments in preserving buccal bone volume following tooth extraction.
Material And Methods: At the test sites (pre-extraction sites), an alveolar crest overbuilding was performed on the buccal aspect of the distal root of the fourth premolar using a xenograft covered with a collagen membrane.

Statement Of Problem: Endodontically treated teeth often require post-and-core restorations for structural support because of extensive hard tissue loss. Assessment of the effect of the residual dentin thickness on the biomechanical performance of these restorations is lacking.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the residual dentin thickness in mandibular premolars after post-and-core restorations using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and to analyze the stress distribution with finite element analysis (FEA).

Tooth enamel maturation requires the removal of proteins from the mineralizing enamel matrix to allow for crystallite growth until full hardness is reached to meet the mechanical needs of mastication. While this process takes up to several years in humans before the tooth erupts, it is greatly accelerated in the faster-developing pigs. Pig teeth erupt with softer, protein-rich enamel that is similar to hypomineralized human enamel but continues to harden quickly after eruption.

Purpose: To evaluate whether there are clinical benefits by preparing dental implant sites using piezosurgery instead of conventional rotary drills in healed bone crests and if initial crestal soft tissue thickness could have an impact on marginal bone loss.
Methods: Twenty-five partially edentulous patients requiring two single implants in molar/premolar areas had each site randomly allocated to either piezosurgery or to conventional rotary drill preparation according to a split-mouth design. Definitive screw-retained metal-ceramic crowns were delivered after 6 months.

The class II bimaxillary protrusion malocclusion with class II or end on molar relation is generally associated with procumbency of lips. This case report presents a case of a 17-year-old nongrowing male patient with a traumatized left central incisor due to a fall with a chief complaint of forwardly placed and gap in upper front teeth. The traumatized left central incisor with Ellis class IV fracture was with a loss of crown structure and a poor prognosis of remaining tooth structure.
