There are various types of obturator fabrication achievable by prosthodontist. Maxillectomy, which is a term used by head and neck surgeons and prosthodontists to describe the partial or total removal of the maxilla in patients suffering from benign or malignant neoplasms is a defect for which to provide an effective obturator is a difficult task for the maxillofacial prosthodontist. Multidisciplinary treatment planning is essential to achieve adequate retention and function for the prosthesis. Speech is often unintelligible as a result of the marked defects in articulation and nasal resonance. This paper describes how to achieve the goal for esthetics and phonetics and also describes the fabrication of a hollow obturator by two piece method, which is simple and maybe used as definitive obturator for maximum comfort of the patient.

Background: Iliopsoas tenotomy is commonly used to address refractory groin pain resulting from iliopsoas tendinopathy. However, consensus and high-level research on its effectiveness are lacking, with concerns about poor outcomes and complications. Little is known of the effects of iliopsoas tenotomy on the peri-articular muscle envelope of the hip.

Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-associated mucormycosis of the maxilla emerged as a significant concern in India during the second wave of the pandemic, necessitating surgical interventions such as maxillectomy. This study investigated the quality of life following prosthodontic rehabilitation with interim obturators in patients who underwent bilateral total maxillectomy due to COVID-19-associated mucormycosis of the jaws.
Methods: The study was conducted using questionnaire-based interviews administered by a single investigator employing the Oral Health Impact Profile-14 (OHIP-14) and Obturator Functioning Scale (OFS) questionnaires.

The absence or dysplasia of the iliac artery(IA) is an exceedingly rare condition, with limited cases documented in the literature. In this report, we present a case of hypoplasia of the right external iliac artery (EIA) in a 69-year-old male patient. The patient presented with right lower abdominal pain attributed to an aneurysm of the right internal iliac artery (IIA), yet notably, there was no evidence of lower limb ischemia at the time of consultation.

Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a case-based reasoning (CBR) system in predicting the design of definitive obturator prostheses for maxillectomy patients.
Materials And Methods: Data from 209 maxillectomy cases, including extraoral images of obturator prostheses and occlusal images of maxillectomy defects, were collected from Institute of Science Tokyo Hospital. These cases were organized into a structured database using Python's pandas library.

The greater sciatic, lesser sciatic and obturator foramina are openings in the pelvis through which pelvic lesions can herniate, leading to the formation of rare dumbbell tumours. We present the case of a man in his late 60s, who presented with obstructed defecation. A per rectal examination revealed a palpable right sided rectal mass.
