: The aim of this study is to investigate the effect on choroidal parameters of drug withdrawal in patients taking α1 adrenergic receptor antagonist (ARA) inhibitors. : In total, 32 eyes of 32 patients under alpha-lytic therapy, and 32 eyes of 32 control subjects, both scheduled for cataract surgery in the fellow eye, were included. EDI-OCT was performed in all patients and subfoveal choroidal thickness (SFCT), luminal choroidal area (LCA), stromal choroidal area (SCA), total choroidal area (TCA), and choroidal vascularity index (CVI) during the preoperative visit were compared with data approximately 1 month after alpha-lytic withdrawal.

The combination therapy of lenvatinib plus pembrolizumab (LP) is increasingly recognized as an important second-line regimen for advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer (EC). However, the safety and efficacy of conversion surgery with low anterior rectal resection for unresectable EC following LP therapy is unknown. A 37-year-old woman was referred with unresectable EC with pleural fluid, peritoneal dissemination, and ascites.

Background: Pathological eating and addictive processes are linked to obesity. Food addiction (FA) involves hedonic eating of highly palatable foods, accompanied by addictive symptoms like craving, loss-of-control (LOC) eating, and withdrawal. The main objectives of this study were to assess FA prevalence and symptoms in bariatric surgery candidates, and its relationship with depression, dysregulated eating, and 1- year postoperative weight loss (WL).

Purpose: Reports on the association of perioperative nutritional and inflammatory status with the clinical course of adjuvant chemotherapy did not include neoadjuvant chemotherapy. We aimed to clarify the mechanism by which perioperative nutritional and inflammatory status affect the clinical course of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy in patients with pancreatic cancer.
Methods: We enrolled 123 patients with pancreatic cancer retrospectively who underwent surgical resection with neoadjuvant and S-1 adjuvant chemotherapy between January 2013 and December 2022.

Postoperative delirium is a prevalent and serious complication among elderly patients following surgical procedures. Prior research indicates that reduced competence in daily living, as evidenced by limitations in performing Activities of Daily Living (ADL), is directly associated with reduced patient mobility. This study aimed to investigate the potential role of preoperative mobility as a risk factor for the development of postoperative delirium.
