Objective: Secondhand smoke (SHS) is a strong but comparatively controllable cardiometabolic risk factor. This study aims to assess the present and future burden of cardiometabolic diseases (CMDs) from SHS exposure.
Methods: Using the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) framework, we examined mortality and disability-adjusted life year (DALY) from CMDs attributable to SHS, by age, sex, and year, including cardiovascular disease [CVD, ischemic heart disease (IHD) and/or stroke], and/or Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) from 1990 to 2019.

Background: We aimed to evaluate the incremental predictive value of metabolomic biomarkers for assessing the 10-year risk of type 2 diabetes when added to the clinical Cambridge Diabetes Risk Score (CDRS).
Methods: We utilized 86,232 UK Biobank (UKB) participants (recruited between 13 March 2006 and 1 October 2010) for model derivation and internal validation. Additionally, we included 4383 participants from the German ESTHER cohort (recruited between 1 July 2000 and 30 June 2002 for external validation).

Background: Due to limited data on managing immunotherapy-induced secondary adrenal insufficiency (SAI) in melanoma survivors, this study investigated its management strategies and outcomes.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study analyzed melanoma patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) with SAI (Mel_SAI, n = 161), without SAI (Mel_CON, n = 168), and patients with pituitary adenoma-related SAI (Pit_SAI, n = 106) at our institution from January 2013 to November 2023. We compared glucocorticoid management patterns, quality of life using distress scores, and the impact of different glucocorticoid types on survival outcomes using Kaplan-Meier analysis.

Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of diabetes mellitus and cervical dilatation on cesarean section scar healing.
Material And Methods: This prospective study included pregnant women diagnosed with diabetes mellitus and healthy control pregnant women. The study group was divided into active labor and pre-active labor based on cervical dilatation, and the diabetic group was categorized into gestational diabetes and preexisting diabetes mellitus.

Background: Episiotomy has specific indications that, if properly followed, can effectively prevent women from experiencing severe lacerations that may result in significant complications like anal incontinence. However, the risk factors related to episiotomy has been the center of much debate in the medical field in the past few years.
Objective: The present study used a machine learning model to predict the factors that put women at the risk of having episiotomy using intrapartum data.
