Pityriasis rosea (PR) is an acute exanthematous disease with an uncertain physiopathology, increasingly recognized as potentially drug induced. This study aims to investigate medication triggers associated with PR by analyzing cases reported in the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) database. A retrospective review of 343 PR cases reported in the FAERS database from January 1, 1998, to March 31, 2024, was conducted.

In July 2023, an in-house forensic neuropathology consultation pilot was established at the Helsinki office of the Forensic Medicine Unit, Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. This offered an alternative to the previous practice of full outsourcing to a hospital neuropathology department. This paper aims to introduce the first year experiences of the pilot.

Although several environmental factors may increase the risk of nervous system anomalies, the association between exposure to particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter of ≤ 2.5 μm (PM) and nervous system anomalies is not completely understood. This study aimed to examine the association between expoure to PM and nervous system anomalies, including specific phenotypes during preconception and early pregnancy and determine the crucial time windows.
