Background: Children born with congenital anomalies present a very high rate of perinatal death and neonatal mortality. Cytogenetic analysis is a convincing investigation along with clinical suspicion and biochemical screening tests. The current study was designed to characterize the prevalence and types of chromosomal abnormalities in high risk prenatal samples using different cytogenetic techniques.

Aims: To reveal young Danes' main motive for pre-drinking and whether their motives and socio economic status can explain how much they pre-drink on an event-specific night out.
Methods: A binary logistic and negative binomial regression models were used on a survey of 670 Danes (aged 18-35 years) conducted on-site in 24 bars, clubs and pubs in four cities and towns in Denmark.
Results: Young males drink on average 12.

Although the use of embryonic stem cells to treat disease has caused much controversy, one type of stem cell treatment has slowly and steadily shown promise but has not engendered negative ethical media attention: the use of umbilical stem cells. Umbilical cord blood (UCB) contains stem cells that have already successfully treated a variety of diseases, including leukemias, lymphomas, hemoglobinopathies, immunodeficiencies, and disorders of metabolism; ongoing research continues to explore additional diseases for potential treatment. Cord blood can be stored in private banks or public banks.

A healthy pregnant was referred at 34 weeks gestation because an obstetrical ultrasound examination had shown fetal bradycardia and nonimmune hydrops. The heart was anatomically normal but complete heart block was present with a ventricular rate of 22bpm and atrial of 101bpm. We injected isoproterenol by cordocentesis direct in the umbilical vein of the fetus and a significant increase into the ventricular and atrial rates were obtained.
