Extensive nutritional analyses were conducted for palm kernel meal (PKM) sourced from 5 countries. Two precision-fed rooster trials were conducted to evaluate the nitrogen-corrected true metabolizable energy (TME) and standardized amino acid (AA) digestibility of 10 PKM samples (PKM 1 to 10). The TME was determined using conventional Single Comb White Leghorn roosters, and standardized AA digestibility was determined using cecectomized roosters.

Palm kernel meal (PKM) presents a challenge for non-ruminant livestock feeding due to its high fibre content predominantly in the form of mannan. Microbial fermentation offers a sustainable solution for fibre hydrolysis in lignocellulosic biomass. In this study, a Bacillus subtilis strain (F6), with high mannanase secretion capability, was isolated from the environment.

Occupational exposure to smoke and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) poses significant health risks, especially for commercial fish smokers who are regularly exposed to high levels of smoke and particulate matter. This study aimed to evaluate the exposure levels and assess the health risks associated with PAHs, phenols, phthalates, and substituted benzenes among 155 fish smokers in Ghana. A total of 155 urine samples from fish smokers across selected coastal regions in Ghana were collected and analyzed.

CR functions on an embedded quadric always extend holomorphically to where is the closure of the convex hull of the image of the Levi form. When is a closed polygonal cone, we show that the Bergman kernel on the interior of is a derivative of the Szegö kernel. Moreover, we develop the Hardy space theory which turns out to be particularly robust.

With the global epidemic trend of obesity, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has become a significant cause of chronic liver disease, seriously affecting human health. Medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) with a fatty acid chain length varying between 6 and 10 carbon atoms (most sources from coconut and palm kernel oils), which exhibited activities to improve lipid metabolism, prevent cardiovascular diseases, and enhance immunity. However, the efficacy differences and potential mechanisms between MCT and traditional long-chain vegetable oils (palm oil, PA; high oleic peanut oil, OA) in obesity-induced NAFLD were still unclear.
