Research on the toxicity of essential oils (EOs) to GWM larvae has provided promising results, although their ovicidal effects and active ingredients require further study. Identifying effective plant compounds is essential for developing insecticides for GWM control.

The repair of nerve damage has long posed a challenge owing to limited self-repair capacity and the highly differentiated nature of nerves. While new therapeutic and pharmacologic interventions have emerged in neurology, their regenerative efficacy remains limited. Tissue engineering offers a promising avenue for overcoming the limitations of conventional treatments and increasing the outcomes of regenerative repair.

Low-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma (LGESS) is a rare disease, accounting for less than 1% of all uterine malignancies. Standard treatment is total hysterectomy and bilateral tubal oophorectomy, although fertility preservation may be desirable because of the young age of onset. We document a case of fertility preservation in a 27-year-old nulligravida diagnosed with LGESS, which not only enabled the successful birth of two live infants but also underscores the efficacy of a multidisciplinary approach to patient treatment through the Hyogo Oncofertility Network (HOF-net).

Breast ultrasound is recommended for early breast cancer detection in China, but the rapid increase in imaging data burdens sonographers. This study evaluated the agreement between artificial intelligence (AI) software and sonographers in analyzing breast nodule features. Breast ultrasound images from two hospitals in Shanghai were analyzed by both the software and the sonographers for features including echotexture, echo pattern, orientation, shape, margin, calcification, and posterior echo attenuation.

Importance: Commercial prices for hospital care are high and vary widely in the US. Employers and state policymakers are exploring reference-based pricing (RBP) to set their payment rates as multiples of Medicare prices; understanding the range of commercial price variation within a hospital is important for calculating the appropriate price targets that are effectively low to generate savings but also feasible and viable to local hospital markets.
Objective: To examine within-hospital maximum-to-minimum commercial hospital price gaps negotiated by 5 national insurers and estimate plan savings if the minimum prices within each hospital are used as new payment level.
