Published: January 2012

We have investigated important intermediates and key transition states of the organocatalyzed cascade double Michael addition using density functional theory. The calculated results suggest that the reaction contains intermolecular nucleophilic addition and intramolecular cyclization, both involving the formation of two stereocenters. The iminium-enamine catalysis of secondary amine unit enables the cascade addition to proceed consecutively. As an electron transport, the iminium attracts the electron stream to promote the nucleophilic addition. Then enamine causes the electron stream to catalyze the cyclization. As H bond donor, the catalyst forms three types of C-H···O H bond with substrates. The enantioselectivity and diastereoselectivity are dominated by the catalyst backbone. Two group links of pyrrole-phenyl and pyrrole-silyl ether orient the reaction in paths with smaller rotations of the linked single bonds. Our conclusion is supported by NBO analysis and the predicted ee, dr values according to the experiment.

Electronic address:

Sugarcane smut is a widespread fungal disease, which severely impairs the quality and sugar yield of sugarcane. Early detection is crucial for mitigating its impact, which makes the development of a highly sensitive and accurate detection method essential. Herein, the Mn-doped zeolite imidazolate framework (ZIF-67), synthesized via a nano-confined-reactor approach, is designed to significantly enhance electron transport and boost the enzyme loading capacity within biofuel cells, thereby potentially enhancing their overall performance.

Electronic address:

Breast cancer is a major public health problem, and distant metastases are the main cause of morbidity and mortality. Chlorpyrifos is an organophosphate that promotes Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition-like phenotype in breast cancer cell lines and modulates the Breast Cancer Stem Cells activating two key processes related to the metastatic cascade. Here, we investigated whether Chlorpyrifos may induce distant metastases in an in vivo triple negative tumor model.

A underlying complex dynamical behavior of double Allee effects in predator-prey system is studied in this article to understand the predator-prey relation more intensely from different aspects. We first propose a system with the Caputo sense fractional-order predator-prey system incorporating the Allee effect in prey populations to explain how the memory effect can change the different emergent states. Local stability analysis is analyzed by applying Matignon's condition for the FDE system.

The control of temporal noise of the pump could add an additional degree of freedom to manipulate the spectrum of continuous-wave (CW) pumped SC generation. In this paper, we experimentally tailor the CW-pumped supercontinuum (SC) generation in a cascaded Raman random fiber laser (CRRFL) based on a 1 µm pump with tunable temporal dynamics. The pump is based on a spectrally filtered ytterbium-doped random fiber laser (YRFL) seed laser, which can be amplified to a 10 W level with the tunable temporal noise.

Ultra-precision point-of-care detection of Escherichia coli O157:H7 in foods is an important issue. Here, the detection sensitivity was improved by a signal cascade amplification strategy synergised by exonuclease III assisted isothermal amplification and reverse magnetic strategy. The double-stranded DNA formed by the aptamer and the target DNA as a sensing switch, avoiding the complex process of specific nucleic acid extraction.
