Aims: This study aimed to investigate the predictive value of the platelet indices for the diagnosis of acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in pregnant women.

Materials And Methods: Pregnant women aged 20-45 years who presented to the emergency room with leg pain and edema and underwent bilateral lower extremity venous Doppler examination for DVT were included in the study. Platelet large cell ratio (P-LCR), platelet distribution width (PDW) and mean platelet volume (MPV) values, which provide information on current platelet activity in the hemogram parameters recorded at first presentation in the emergency department, were analyzed between the two groups.

Introduction: Central venous thrombosis (CVT) represents a well-documented complication of acute otitis media (AOM) and acute mastoiditis (AM). Despite widespread antibiotic utilization, which has significantly reduced the incidence of severe AOM/AM complications, recent years have witnessed an increasing frequency of thrombotic complications in pediatric patients, not invariably presenting with classical neurological manifestations.Aim: This study aimed to investigate the potential correlation between COVID-19 infection and increased CVT incidence, while sharing therapeutic experiences, given the absence of standardized treatment protocols for otogenic CVT in pediatric populations.

Development and validation of a score for clinical deterioration in patients with cerebral venous thrombosis.

Neurosurg Rev

January 2025

Department of Neurosurgery, Beijing Friendship hospital, Capital Medical University, No. 95 Yong 'an Road, Xicheng District, Beijing, China.

Patients with cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) may experience poor response to anticoagulant therapy and delayed surgical treatment may lead to clinical deterioration. However, the factors contributing to clinical deterioration remain poorly understood. Patients with CVT from three centers between January 2017 and October 2023 were included and grouped as the development cohort and validation cohort.

Caprini score combined with thrombotic molecular markers for predicting DVT in patients with traumatic fractures.

Sci Rep

January 2025

Laboratory Medicine Center, Department of Transfusion Medicine, Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital (Affiliated People's Hospital), Hangzhou Medical College, No.158 Shangtang Road, Hangzhou, 310014, Zhejiang, China.

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is one of the important factors leading to death in patients undergoing fracture surgery. This study aims to investigating the predictive value of the Caprini score combined with thrombus molecular markers for the risk of DVT in patients after traumatic fracture surgery. A total of 342 patients who underwent surgery for traumatic fractures were included in the study.
