Potency and quantitative risk assessment are essential for determining safe concentrations for the formulation of potential skin sensitizers into consumer products. Several new approach methodologies (NAMs) for skin sensitization hazard assessment have been developed, validated, and adopted in OECD test guidelines. However, work is ongoing to develop NAMs for predicting skin sensitization potency on a quantitative scale for use as a point of departure (POD) in next-generation risk assessment (NGRA).

Introduction: Benign and malignant myxoid soft tissue tumors have shared clinical, imaging, and histologic features that can make diagnosis challenging. The purpose of this study is comparison of the diagnostic performance of a radiomic based machine learning (ML) model to musculoskeletal radiologists.
Methods: Manual segmentation of 90 myxoid soft tissue tumors (45 myxomas and 45 myxofibrosarcomas) was performed on axial T1, and T2FS or STIR magnetic resonance imaging sequences.

Objective: We aimed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of heparin-binding protein (HBP) in cerebrospinal fluid for the diagnosis of bacterial meningitis in patients with a suspected central nervous system infection.
Methods: This prospective multicenter cohort study determined the diagnostic accuracy of HBP in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) for bacterial meningitis among a cohort of consecutive patients with a suspected central nervous infection. The final clinical diagnosis was considered the reference standard.

Background: Watermelon and its rind are rich in fiber, vitamins, minerals, and L-citrulline. Despite these nutritional benefits, research on the effects of blenderized watermelon (WM), especially in adolescents, remains limited. This study aimed to address this gap by examining the impact of blenderized WM (, including both flesh and rind) on satiety, postprandial glucose responses, and overall acceptability among overweight and obese adolescents.

Background: Studies suggest that less than 4% of patients with pulmonary embolisms (PEs) are managed in the outpatient setting. Strong evidence and multiple guidelines support the use of the Pulmonary Embolism Severity Index (PESI) for the identification of acute PE patients appropriate for outpatient management. However, calculating the PESI score can be inconvenient in a busy emergency department (ED).
