We developed a technique allowing the direct observation of photoinduced charge-transfer states (CTSs)-the weakly coupled electron-hole pairs preceding the completely separated charges in organic photovoltaic (OPV) blends. Quadrature detection of the electron spin echo (ESE) signal enables the observation of an out-of-phase ESE signal of CTS. The out-of-phase Electron-Electron Double Resonance (ELDOR) allows measuring electron-hole distance distributions within CTS and its temporal evolution in the microsecond range.

The accurate and timely assessment of wheat freshness is not only a complex scientific endeavor but also a critical aspect of grain storage safety. This study introduces an innovative approach for evaluating wheat freshness by integrating machine learning algorithms with Biophoton Analytical Technology (BPAT). Initially, spontaneous ultraweak photon emissions from wheat are measured, and various statistical descriptors are derived to construct a feature vector.

They can be continuously monitored through contact or contactless measurements performed in the home or a hospital. In this study, a contactless Doppler radar W-band sensing system was used for short-range, contactless vital sign estimation.

Polynuclear Au(I) cluster photocatalysts, known for their high activity and stability, hold substantial potential in organic synthetic chemistry. This study synthesized two Au(I) supramolecular cluster catalysts with different nuclearities: a tetranuclear cluster, C1 ([(dppmAu2)2L1]•PF6-), and a hexadecanuclear cluster, C2 [(dppmAu2)6(Au4)(L1)4]•4PF6-, through a multicomponent stepwise self-assembly approach. Both cluster structures feature aurophilicity interaction motifs that endow them with exceptional photocatalytic performance, exhibiting optical band gaps of 2.

Oxygen saturation is a crucial indicator in the management of various diseases and in preoperative diagnosis, and the detection of oxygen content is valuable in guiding clinical treatment. However, as the classical and dominant oxygen detection strategies, current photoelectric oximeters and electrochemical-based blood gas analyzers often suffer from significant interindividual variation and poor compliance, respectively. In recent years, wearable microneedles (MNs) for analyzing biomarkers in interstitial fluid (ISF) have received great attention and recognition mainly for the reason that the content of the substances distributed in ISF has a better correlation with that in blood circulation compared with other body fluids such as sweat and saliva.
