Cataracts have been a common disease in China for centuries. As early as the Tang dynasty, physicians of Chinese medicine had developed 'jin pi shu', a method of couching, to cure the disease. In 1976, a new method, invented by Tang Youzhi, was acknowledged as one of the most advanced medical achievements in communist China. This paper explores the significance of Tang's method for Mao Zedong's China. Tang's method achieved two goals set by Chairman Mao for medical and health policies: to serve rural China and to integrate Chinese and Western medicine.

Methods: This was a prospective cohort study conducted among 23 Ob-Gyn residents at a tertiary training hospital from 2021 to 2022. A curriculum intervention was provided via lecture and simulation.

For managing peri-implantitis, a variety of treatment modalities involving both surgical and nonsurgical methods including implantoplasty have been proposed. Implants that are placed in a free fibula flap are more prone to peri-implantitis due to the absence of firm, keratinized mucosa. Prosthetic design that offers adequate hygiene access should be designed whenever possible; otherwise, it may lead to the accumulation of plaque or biofilm that may lead to peri-implant diseases.
