Leptosperin (methyl syringate-4--β-d-gentiobioside) serves as a unique marker for ma̅nuka honey, derived from the ma̅nuka plant (). Despite its importance, the biosynthesis pathway of leptosperin remains unreported. This study investigates the molecular mechanism of leptosperin formation from its aglycone, methyl syringate (MSYR), in ma̅nuka plants.

Tocotrienols, isomers of vitamin E, may provide an effective nutritional strategy to mitigate common cardiovascular risks such as dyslipidemia, inflammation, and oxidative stress in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). This double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized clinical trial aimed to evaluate the effects of a tocotrienol-rich fraction (TRF) supplementation (300 mg/day) on oxidative stress and inflammatory markers, including transcription factors in nondialysis (ND) and hemodialysis (HD) CKD patients for three months. Interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor- (IL-6 and TNF-), C-reactive protein (CRP), lipid peroxidation, biochemical parameters, and transcription factors such as NRF2 and NF-B mRNA expression were evaluated.

Purpose: Research proved the beneficial effect of Zinc on human health and Gastrointestinal tract inflammatory diseases. We propose that zinc would be of value in children with Hirschsprung's disease (HD) undergoing elective pull-through surgery. This study was carried out to determine the influence of preoperative zinc intake on postoperative outcomes, especially the hospital length of stay in patients diagnosed with HD as a primary outcome.

Prebiotics are substrates selectively utilized by microorganisms to confer health benefits to their hosts. Various prebiotics have been supplemented in standard milk formulas for infants who cannot be exclusively breastfed, aiming to provide benefits similar to those of breast milk. One of the most commonly used prebiotics is a mixture of 90% short-chain galacto-oligosaccharides and 10% long-chain fructo-oligosaccharides (scGOS/lcFOS [9:1]).

Background: This study aimed to comprehensively assess the global, regional, and national burden of esophageal cancer (EC) attributable to inadequate vegetable and fruit intake from 1990 to 2019 and explore the potential impact of existing dietary intervention programs on EC prevention.

Methods: Using the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019 (GBD 2019) database, we conducted descriptive analyses stratified by age, sex, Socio-demographic Index (SDI), and regional levels. Temporal trends were assessed using linear regression models, and cluster analysis was employed to explore burden patterns across different GBD regions.
