This article introduces general concepts and definitions related to the notion of asynchronous computation in the framework of artificial neural networks. Using the dynamic field theory as an illustrative example, we explain why one may want to perform such asynchronous computation and how one can implement it since this computational scheme draws several consequences on both the trajectories and the stability of the whole system. After giving an unequivocal definition of asynchronous computation, we present a few practically usable methods and quantitative bounds that can guarantee most of the mesoscopic properties of the system.

Stretch activation (SA), a delayed increase in force production following rapid muscle lengthening, is critical to the function of vertebrate cardiac muscle and insect asynchronous indirect flight muscle (IFM). SA enables or increases power generation in muscle types used in a cyclical manner. Recently, myosin isoform expression has been implicated as a mechanism for varying the amplitude of SA in some muscle types.

Objectives: Software for pharmacological modeling and statistical analysis is essential for drug development and individualized treatment modeling. This study aims to develop a pharmacokinetic analysis cloud platform that leverages cloud-based benefits, offering a user-friendly interface with a smoother learning curve.
Methods: The platform was built using Rails as the framework, developed in Julia language, and employs PostgreSQL 14 database, Redis cache, and Sidekiq for asynchronous task management.

Unlabelled: This study aimed to validate the correlation between volumetric bone mineral density in the cervicothoracic and lumbar spine using measurements from opportunistic CT scans. The bone density assessment proved feasible, allowing us to propose optimal cut-off values for diagnosing osteoporosis and predicting vertebral fractures in the cervical and thoracic spine.
Objectives: To investigate the performance of cervicothoracic volumetric bone mineral density (vBMD), obtained through opportunistic quantitative computed tomography (QCT), in discriminating patients with/without osteoporosis and with/without vertebral fractures (VFs), using lumbar vBMD as the reference.

We generated asynchronous functional networks (aFNs) using a novel method called optimal causation entropy and compared aFN topology with the correlation-based synchronous functional networks (sFNs), which are commonly used in network neuroscience studies. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) time series from 212 participants of the National Consortium on Alcohol and Neurodevelopment in Adolescence study were used to generate aFNs and sFNs. As a demonstration of how aFNs and sFNs can be used in tandem, we used multivariate mixed effects models to determine whether age interacted with node efficiency to influence connection probabilities in the two networks.
