Between 1940 and 1942, the Mexican delegation of the Junta for Aid to Spanish republicans founded and supported its own Medical-Pharmaceutical Department in Mexico City, formed by recently exiled Spanish professionals. It initially dealt with home medical care, charging for each medical service performed by specialists and each drug prescription. It later included a polyclinic with a staff of specialists and its own pharmacy. Finally, a small hospital and a laboratory for medical tests were planned, but circumstances prevented the project from getting under way. The study addresses the reasons for the birth of the Medical Pharmaceutical Service, its funding, organization and functioning, the professionals on whom it depended, its lines of action and its immediate projects. It also covers the main problems faced during its development and the reasons for its forced dissolution.

In this study, we investigated the measurable residual leukemic stem cell (MR-LSC) population after allogeneic stem cell transplantation (allo-SCT) for high-risk acute myeloid leukemia (AML), utilizing T-cell immunoglobulin mucin-3 (TIM-3) expression as a functional marker of AML leukemic stem cells (LSCs). Analysis of the CD34CD38 fraction of bone marrow cells immediately after achievement of engraftment revealed the presence of both TIM-3LSCs and TIM-3 donor hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) at varying ratios. Genetic analysis confirmed that TIM-3 cells harbored patient-specific mutations identical to those found in AML clones, whereas TIM-3 cells did not, indicating that TIM-3CD34CD38 cells represent residual AML LSCs.

Introduction: Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection is prevalent worldwide and contributes to various gastrointestinal diseases. Eradication therapy is crucial in managing HP infection, but antibiotic resistance has led to refractory cases, complicating treatment outcomes and increasing the risk of adverse events.
Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a multidisciplinary approach, termed HP Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Clinic, in improving eradication rates and safety in patients with refractory HP infection.

This study investigates the association between parity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in Japanese women, considering the clinical history of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and menopausal status, which are known risk factors for T2DM. Overall, 30,116 Japanese women (6,588 premenopausal and 23,528 postmenopausal) were included in this cross-sectional study. They were divided into two groups according to menopausal status (premenopausal and postmenopausal women), and the association between parity and T2DM was evaluated using a multiple logistic regression model with possible confounders, including a clinical history of GDM.

In the current study, we have designed and prepared a series of quinoxaline-based compounds, which were derived from -phenylenediamine. Among them, compounds 5m-5p displayed good to moderate antibacterial activity with MICs of 4-16 μg mL against , 8-32 μg mL against , 8-32 μg mL against MRSA and 4-32 μg mL against , respectively. Compound 5p, identified as a potent broad-spectrum antibacterial agent, demonstrated the strongest inhibitory effects against a range of bacterial strains and low cytotoxicity, thereby warranting further investigation.
