Published: August 1990

The association of testicular cancer, sarcoidosis and neuroma is reported. Review of the literature revealed the rarity of the association of testicular cancer and sarcoidosis which is probably a chance association, but which is important in the context of staging, as overstaging may lead to useless or even dangerous treatment.

Fluoride (F), as a natural element found in a wide range of sources such as water and certain foods, has been proven to be beneficial in preventing dental caries, but concerns have been raised regarding its potential deleterious effects on overall health. Sodium fluoride (NaF), another form of F, has the ability to accumulate in reproductive organs and interfere with hormonal regulation and oxidative stress pathways, contributing to reproductive toxicity. While the exact mechanisms of F-induced reproductive toxicity are not fully understood, this review aims to elucidate the mechanisms involved in testicular and ovarian injury.

Semen analysis is universally regarded as the gold standard for diagnosing male infertility, while ultrasonography plays a vital role as a complementary diagnostic tool. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of artificial intelligence (AI)-driven deep learning algorithms in predicting semen analysis parameters based on testicular ultrasonography images. This study included male patients aged 18-54 who sought evaluation for infertility at the Urology Outpatient Clinic of our hospital between February 2022 and April 2023.

Transferrin Receptor 2 (TfR2) is a homolog of Transferrin Receptor 1 (TfR1), involved in regulating intra and extracellular iron levels. Altered iron pathways have been associated with cancer onset and progression; however, their role in canine tumors remains poorly explored. This study investigated TfR2 immunohistochemical expression in non-neoplastic canine testis for the first time and in the most common types of canine testicular tumors: intratubular seminomas (ITSEMs), diffuse seminomas (DSEMs), Leydig cell tumors (LCTs), and Sertoli cell tumors (SCTs).
