We demonstrate the transfer of single photon triggered electrical pulses from a superconducting nanowire single photon detector (SNSPD) to a single flux quantum (SFQ) pulse. We describe design and test of a digital SFQ based SNSPD readout circuit and demonstrate its correct operation. Both circuits (SNSPD and SFQ) operate under the same cryogenic conditions and are directly connected by wire bonds. A future integration of the present multi-chip configuration seems feasible because both fabrication process and materials are very similar. In contrast to commonly used semiconductor amplifiers, SFQ circuits combine very low power dissipation (a few microwatts) with very high operation speed, thus enabling count-rates of several gigahertz. The SFQ interface circuit simplifies the SNSPD readout and enables large numbers of detectors for future compact multi-pixel systems with single photon counting resolution. The demonstrated circuit has great potential for scaling the present interface solution to 1,000 detectors by using a single SFQ chip.

Objective: This study aims to quantitatively compare the effects of standard needle irrigation (SNI), passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI), EDDY, photon-initiated photoacoustic streaming (PIPS), and shock wave-enhanced emission photoacoustic streaming (SWEEPS) on the apical extrusion of irrigation solutions in teeth with severe canal curvature.
Materials And Methods: Seventy-five teeth with a single root and canal, and curvature angles ranging from 20° to 40°, were selected for this study. Root canal curvatures were measured from buccolingual and mesiodistal radiographs using ImageJ software (version 1.

The physical picture for photocurrent injection and coherent control in intrinsic graphene under two-color laser excitation remains obscure. Previously, photocurrent injection of intrinsic graphene was attributed to the quantum interference between two electronic transition pathways of single-photon and two-photon absorptions as well as layer-to-layer coupling. Here, we show that quantum interference between stimulated electronic Raman scattering and single-photon absorption plays a very important role in contributing to the total photocurrent, while interlayer coupling does not sufficiently affect the photocurrent injection, which is in contrast to the previous interpretation of the experimental results on photocurrent injection and coherent control.

Most current highly efficient organic solar cells utilize small molecules like Y6 and its derivatives as electron acceptors in the photoactive layer. In this work, a small molecule acceptor, SC8-IT4F, is developed through outer side chain engineering on the terminal thiophene of a conjugated 6,12-dihydro-dithienoindeno[2,3-d:2',3'-d']-s-indaceno[1,2-b:5,6-b']dithiophene (IDTT) central core. Compared to the reference molecule C8-IT4F, which lacks outer side chains, SC8-IT4F displays notable differences in molecule geometry (as shown by simulations), thermal behavior, single-crystal packing, and film morphology.

Sum-frequency generation (SFG) enables the coherent upconversion of electromagnetic signals and plays a significant role in mid-infrared vibrational spectroscopy for molecular analysis. Recent research indicates that plasmonic nanocavities, which confine light to extremely small volumes, can facilitate the detection of vibrational SFG signals from individual molecules by leveraging surface-enhanced Raman scattering combined with mid-infrared laser excitation. In this article, we compute the degree of second order coherence ( (0)) of the upconverted mid-infrared field under realistic parameters and accounting for the anharmonic potential that characterizes vibrational modes of individual molecules.

This review assesses the primary neuroimaging techniques used to evaluate Parkinson's disease (PD) - a neurological condition characterized by gradual dopamine-producing nerve cell degeneration. The neuroimaging techniques explored include positron emission tomography (PET), single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). These modalities offer varying degrees of insights into PD pathophysiology, diagnostic accuracy, specificity by way of exclusion of other Parkinsonian syndromes, and monitoring of disease progression.
