Published: October 2011

Autoimmune blistering disease (AIBD) in pregnancy raises several complex management issues associated with underlying pathogenesis and treatment options. This article considers the effects of the disease as well as its treatment for both mother and fetus. All AIBDs can occur in pregnancy but are relatively rare. The article considers each AIBD in turn and then looks at treatment options for the group as a whole, as there are many issues common to all.
