Objective: To evaluate and compare the computer analyzing software system with subjective interpretation using the FIGO classification of intrapartum cardiotocograms.
Methods: Twenty-four obstetricians and 19 midwives from 3 hospitals [19 junior (≤3 years) and 24 senior (>3 years) experience] participated in this study. Forty-three doctors and midwives interpreted intrapartum cardiotocographic (CTG) readings from 12 parturients without knowing the clinical outcome. Two CTG readings were repeated for evaluation of the intraobserver variability. Inter- and intraobserver agreement in CTG interpretation using the FIGO score and the computer analyzing software was assessed via proportions of agreement (Pa), with 95% confidence intervals. The level of inter- and intraobserver agreement was analyzed by calculating Pa values for CTG baseline, variability, accelerations and decelerations.
Results: In total, for all parameters of the FIGO classification, Pa was very low. The highest 95% confidence level of Pa was found for the baseline parameter (0.49-1.01), and the lowest for the parameter acceleration. No significant difference was seen between obstetricians and midwives as well as between junior and senior experience. In assessments of normal cases, the Pa were significantly higher than in pathological readings.
Conclusion: Computer analyzing software can reduce the high inter- and intraobserver variability; however, further studies are needed to find out whether this can improve fetal outcome and reduce the number of Cesarean sections.

According to histopathology and molecular genetics, there are 5 major subtypes of ovarian carcinomas: high-grade serous (70%), endometrioid (10%), clear cell (10%), mucinous (3% to 4%), and low-grade serous (<5%) carcinomas. These tumors, which constitute over 95% of cases, represent distinct diseases with different prognoses and therapy. This review outlines contemporary advances in molecular pathology, which have expanded our knowledge of the biology of epithelial ovarian cancer and are also important to patient management.

In the part I, we have already reported the rationale, efficacy, complication, and limitation of using transcervical resection of myoma (TCRM) in the management of women with symptomatic uterine fibroids, particularly for those belonging to the International Federation of Gynaecology & Obstetrics (FIGO) myoma classification system as FIGO types 0-2. The current review as part II, the discussion will focus on the techniques, tips and complication prevention or management when TCRM is applied in the management of women with symptomatic submucosal myoma. With better understanding for TCRM-related basic knowledge, such as rationale, efficacy, complication, technique review, tips and prevention or management of complications, plus the well-training and carefully performing TCRM through preceding accurate diagnosis, and good and careful preparation and intensive monitoring during operation and using effective strategy to preventing short-term and long-term complications, TCRM can become one of most powerful strategies in offering the less traumatic injury to the uterus, and an effective and safe surgical approach in dealing with women with symptomatic submucosal myoma.

Uterine fibroids occur frequently in women during the reproductive age, and they are rarely associated with clinical meaning because of their benign characteristics and asymptomatic clinical presentation. Sometimes, uterine fibroids are symptomatic and associated with compression syndrome, infertility, chronic pelvic pain and heavy menstrual bleeding. All need further intervention and treatment.

Background: In uterine cervical cancer (UCC), tumour staging is performed according to the 2018 International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) system, where imaging is incorporated, or the more generic Tumour Node Metastasis (TNM) classification. With the technical development in diagnostic imaging, continuous prospective evaluation of the different imaging methods contributing to stage determination is warranted. The aims of this interim study were to (1) evaluate the performance of radiological FIGO (rFIGO) and T staging (rT) with 2-fluorine-18-fluoro-deoxy-glucose (2[18F]-FDG)-positron emission tomography with computed tomography (PET/CT) and with magnetic resonance imaging (PET/MRI), compared to clinical FIGO (cFIGO) and T (cT) staging based on clinical examination and conventional imaging, in treatment-naïve UCC, and to (2) identify possible MRI biomarkers for early treatment response after radiotherapy.
