Urban water environments, including canals, harbours and estuaries are susceptible to contamination with antimicrobials and drug-resistant bacteria through domestic and industrial wastewater discharges and storm water overflows. There is potential for wildlife using these waters to acquire and transmit drug-resistant bacteria and antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs) of clinical importance. This study aimed to assess clinically important drug-resistant bacteria in urban waterfowl, particularly mute swans.

Peptidoglycan (PGN) is a unique component of prokaryotic cell walls with immune-enhancing capacities. Here, we extracted PGN from , a by-product of amino acid fermentation, using the trichloroacetic acid (TCA) method. SDS-PAGE analysis confirmed the presence of PGN, with a band of approximately 28 kDa.

Circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) is an emerging field with significant applications in molecular electronics, optical materials, and chiroptical sensing. Achieving efficient CPL emission in organic systems remains a major challenge, particularly in the development of materials with high fluorescence quantum yields (Φ) and large luminescence dissymmetry factors (g). Herein, we report the efficient synthesis of shape-persistent tetraphenylethylene macrocycles and investigate its potential as a CPL material.

In this study, five seagrass species Halodule uninervis, Thalassia hemprichii, Enhalus acoroides, Cymodocea serrulata, and Syringodium isoetifolium collected from the Mandapam coastal region of Rameswaram (Palk Bay region), Tamil Nadu, India, were selected to identify the antioxidant-rich proteins/peptides. The primary objective was to identify the proteins/peptides present in these seagrass filtrates extracted by using four different pH-based buffer extracts and to assess their antioxidant activity. Among the various buffer extracts, 0.

Background: Carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKP) is a difficult to treat organism owing to limited therapeutic options. So far, little is known about the molecular characteristics of CRKP in Palestine.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the antimicrobial resistance patterns, multilocus sequence types (ST) and resistance genes among clinical K.
