While prior works suggest that moderate-intensity physical activity (MPA) may bolster memory, it is unclear whether this extends to emotionally salient memories consolidated during sleep. In the current study, older adults (mean age = 72.

Short tandem repeats delineate gene bodies across eukaryotes.

Nat Commun

December 2024

Centre for Ecological and Evolutionary Synthesis, Department of Biosciences, University of Oslo, Oslo, Norway.

Short tandem repeats (STRs) have emerged as important and hypermutable sites where genetic variation correlates with gene expression in plant and animal systems. Recently, it has been shown that a broad range of transcription factors (TFs) are affected by STRs near or in the DNA target binding site. Despite this, the distribution of STR motif repetitiveness in eukaryote genomes is still largely unknown.

Magnetoplumbites are one of the most broadly studied families of hexagonal ferrites, typically with high magnetic ordering temperatures, making them excellent candidates for permanent magnets. However, magnetic frustration is rarely observed in magnetoplumbites. Herein, the discovery, synthesis, and characterization of the first Mn-based magnetoplumbite, as well as the first magnetoplumbite involving pnictogens (Sb), ASbMnO (A = K or Rb) are reported.

Background: Recent studies suggest that increased digital technology usage could be a factor in the rising occurrence and severity of headache episodes. The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to determine whether the severity of primary headaches (migraine and tension-type headache) is associated with problematic internet use taking many covariates into account.

Methods: We conducted an online cross-sectional survey using a quantitative, descriptive questionnaire, targeting university students enrolled in correspondence courses, aged 18 to 65.
