Objective: To analyze and predict the structure and function correlated to interferon sensitivity of HCV Core protein in different genotypes.
Methods: Using different bioinformafics software respectively to comparatively analyze and predict the secondary structure, tertiary structure, modification site and main functional motifs of HCV Core protein.
Results: There were diversities in secondary structure and tertiary structure of different genotypes. HCV Core protein would exist some modification sites about amidation, cAMP, PKC, TYR, and interact with amphiphysin SH3 domain, ERK, PKC.
Conclusion: Differences in structure and function of HCV Core protein of different genotypes affected interferon sensitivity.

Several viral immune evasion mechanisms have hampered the development of an effective vaccine against HCV, among them the remarkable conformational flexibility within neutralization epitopes in the HCV antigens. Here, we report the design of epitope-focused immunogens displaying two distinct HCV cross-neutralization epitopes.
Background: The current diagnostic strategy for hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection involves a two-step approach: antibody HCV screening followed by confirmatory nucleic acid testing. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic performance of the Abbott ARCHITECT HCV Ag assay in serum/plasma samples as a potential one-step alternative for diagnosing active HCV infection in people living with hepatitis B virus (PLWHB) through a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted following PRISMA-DTA guidelines.
- The study investigates how dietary factors influence genetic susceptibility to liver fibrosis using the FIB-4 index as a non-invasive assessment tool.
- A genome-wide association study (GWAS) revealed that age and tea consumption significantly affect liver fibrosis risk, with high-risk individuals mainly over 60 years old.
- While genetic factors were found to be major contributors to liver fibrosis development, dietary factors played a minor role; two specific genetic variants were identified as risk and protective factors respectively.
Aim: Aim of the pilot was to increase HIV/HCV/syphilis testing and linkage to care of newly diagnosed persons, improve data collection and transfer using standard data collection tools in CBVCT services.

This study evaluates the Elecsys® HCV Duo immunoassay's ability to detect HCV infection by measuring anti-HCV antibodies and HCV core antigen in one test, compared to traditional testing methods.
Results showed the Duo-assay effectively identifies active infections with high sensitivity but suggested that additional confirmation tests are necessary for more accurate diagnoses, particularly in blood donation settings.
