Background Many newly qualified doctors feel unprepared for clinical practice. The literature identifies themes including difficulties with clinical reasoning, emergency management, handover, and prioritization of tasks. Although there is an expected level of anxiety for newly qualified doctors, this appears to be amplified with respect to the first on-call shifts that encompass these themes.

Neonicotinoid insecticides (NNIs) are widely used in agriculture; however, their effects on anuran amphibians remain poorly explored. This global review critically examines the existing literature, with data obtained from Web of Science and Scopus databases. A total thirty-seven studies were published from 2004 to 2023.

The core of clean energy technologies such as fuel cells, water electrolyzers, and metal-air batteries depends on a series of oxygen and hydrogen-based electrocatalysis reactions, including the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), which necessitate cost-effective electrocatalysts to improve their energy efficiency. In the recent decade, complex metal oxides (beyond simple transition metal oxides, spinel oxides and ABO perovskite oxides) have emerged as promising candidate materials with unexpected electrocatalytic activities for oxygen and hydrogen electrocatalysis owing to their special crystal structures and unique physicochemical properties. In this review, the current progress in complex metal oxides for ORR, OER, and HER electrocatalysis is comprehensively presented.

Ischemic stroke and acute lung injury are prevalent life-threatening conditions marked by intricate molecular mechanisms and elevated mortality rates. Despite evident pathophysiological distinctions, a notable similarity exists in the gene responses to tissue injury observed in both pathologies. This similarity extends to both protein-encoding RNAs and non-coding RNAs.

A captivating challenge in chemistry lies in achieving robust and precise binding of uncharged, hydrophilic carbohydrate entities. Although past decades have provided a variety of excellent molecular architectures tailored for carbohydrate recognition, including acyclic receptors, macrocycles and foldamers, recent advances have highlighted the potential of synthetic molecular cages. These structures are equipped with intricately designed cavities that contain bespoke noncovalent binding sites for carbohydrate interactions.
