Objective: Casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate nanocomplexes (CPP-ACP) exhibit anticariogenic potential in laboratory, animal and human experiments. The remineralising potential of synthetic CPPs on early enamel caries was investigated.
Design: In vivo study.
Setting: University of Naples 'Federico II', School of Dentistry, Department of Paediatric Dentistry, 2010, Italy.
Participants: 40 volunteers (age range 10-16 years) were recruited and divided in two groups of 20 (Group A and B).
Interventions: In Group A subjects two demineralised enamel specimens were placed on the buccal surfaces of the first molars and subjects were instructed to apply a commercial product containing CPPs (GC Tooth Mousse) only on the right-sided specimen and a placebo mousse on the left, for 1 month. In Group B subjects two enamel specimens were similarly placed into the mouth and used as controls.
Results: SEM analysis revealed a diffuse and homogeneous mineral coating, reducing the surface alterations only in the demineralised specimens treated with synthetic CPPs into the mouth.
Conclusions: Results demonstrate that CPPs are able to promote remineralisation of early enamel lesions.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of home-use desensitizing agents over an 8-week period by comparing them using different measurement methods.
Methods: A randomized, controlled clinical trial was conducted with 180 individuals aged between 18 and 70 who clinically diagnosed dentin hypersensitivity (DH) in two or more non-adjacent teeth. Subjects who met the inclusion criteria (n = 164) were randomly allocated into five test groups-using Casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP), Arginine, Novamin, Propolis, and Potassium nitrate-and a control group using standard fluoride toothpaste.

Objectives: This study aims to comparatively assess the preventive and protective effects of the self-assembling peptide P-4 on enamel erosion and evaluate the potential for enamel surface recovery when professional products are combined with home-use dental-care products during the erosive process.
Materials And Methods: Ninety-nine bovine incisors were divided into nine groups: a control group, four groups with the application of professional-products [P-4 peptide (Curodont-Repair), stannous/Sn containing solution (8% Sn), casein-phosphopeptide-amorphous-calcium-phosphate fluoride/CPP-ACPF (MI Varnish), sodium fluoride/NaF (Profluorid)] and four groups with the combination of professional products and home-use daily dental care products [P-4 peptide (Curodont Repair + Curodont Protect), stannous ions containing agents (8% Sn+Emofluor Gel Intensive-Care), CPP-ACPF (MI Varnish + MI Paste Plus), NaF (Profluorid + ReminPro)]. Professional products were applied once before a five-day erosive cycle, involving six 2-minute citric-acid exposures per day.

This study compared the efficacy of 660 nm diode laser, 980 nm diode laser, and amorphous calcium phosphate-casein phosphopeptide (ACP-CPP) agent in the treatment of DH. Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of fluoride-containing remineralization agents on enamel white spot lesions.
Methods And Materials: Twenty bovine incisors were cut mesio-distally and occluso-gingivally, creating 80 specimens, and divided into four groups (n=20/group): 1) control (no treatment); 2) fluoride varnish (Voco Profluoroid 5% NaF Varnish, VOCO Dental, Cuxhaven, Germany); 3) CPP-ACFP (MI Paste Plus with Recaldent, GC Corporation, Tokyo, Japan),; 4) self-assembling peptide (P11-4F, CURODONT Repair Fluoride Plus, Credentis AG, Windisch, Switzerland). After a three-week demineralization-remineralization cycle, white spot lesions were observed on the specimens.
