Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) significantly disrupts placental structure and function, leading to complications such as intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) and preeclampsia. This study aimed to investigate the effects of GDM on placental histology, angiogenesis, and oxidative stress, as well as evaluate metformin's protective role in mitigating these changes. A total of 60 pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups: control, metformin-treated, GDM, and GDM with metformin.

Unlabelled: Backed by advancements in technologies like microbial sequencing, many studies indicate that the vaginal microbiome is a key marker of female reproductive health. However, further studies are still needed to investigate the correlation between vaginal microbiota (VMB) and outcomes of assisted reproductive technology (ART). Therefore, this study compared the VMB of two types of infertile women undergoing fertilization (IVF) with normal control women during the implantation window period and investigated the effects of VMB characteristics on IVF outcomes.

Protein interactions play a crucial role in regulating cellular mechanisms, highlighting the need for effective methods to control these processes. In this regard, chemical inducers of proximity (CIPs) offer a promising approach to precisely manipulate protein-protein interactions in live cells and . In this study, we introduce pMandi, a photocaged version of the plant hormone-based CIP mandipropamid (Mandi), which allows the use of light as an external trigger to induce protein proximity in live mammalian cells.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of modulating reactive oxygen species (ROS) in vitrified bovine in vitro produced (IVP) embryos. In experiment I we compared ROS production in fresh and vitrified-warmed blastocysts. In experiment II we evaluated the effects of antioxidant supplementation (100 μM of 2-mercaptoethanol; BME; 0 h to 2 h during warming) on ROS levels in vitrified-warmed blastocysts, and in experiment III we compared the development of fresh and vitrified-warmed blastocysts in the presence (BME) or absence (Control) of antioxidant (100 μM BME; 0 h to 48 h during warming).
