Background: In measuring plantar pressures during gait, earlier methods have used a platform system that does not take into account the interactions feet have with orthotics and shoe wearing. The purpose of the study was to provide normal insole plantar pressure parameter data during stance phase using the Pedar pressure insole system.
Methods: Twenty-nine normal children, age 6 to 16 years, were recruited and walked along the 25 m walkway at self-selected speeds. Patients were divided into 2 separate groups for statistical analysis--juniors (< 12 y old) and teenagers (> 13 y old). The pressure map was divided into 8 regions (masks) determined by anatomic landmarks and a total of 7 pressure parameters were analyzed of each mask.
Results: We did not detect significant differences in foot pressures between juniors and teenagers when regarding sex, or left and right feet for 7 parameters measured.
Conclusions: This normative data will provide a basis with which to more accurately assess pediatric pathologic foot deformities and to distinguish dynamic foot deformities from anatomic foot deformities. THE LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: Level II.

The diabetic foot consumes a large number of resources and has a profound negative impact on quality of life, representing the major non-traumatic cause of lower limb amputation in adults. The present report describes a diabetic patient with a recurrent plantar ulcer in the topography of the heads of the second, third, and fourth metatarsals. The patient was treated using the distal metatarsal diaphyseal osteotomy (DMDO) technique in these bones, an Akin-type percutaneous osteotomy in the proximal phalanx of the hallux, and debridement.

Clonus is characterized by involuntary, rhythmic, oscillatory muscle contractions, typically triggered by rapid muscle stretching and is frequently associated with spastic equinovarus foot (SEVF), where it may increase risk of falls and cause discomfort, pain, and sleep disorders. We hypothesize that selective diagnostic nerve block (DNB) of the tibial nerve motor branches can help identify which muscle is primarily responsible for clonus in patients with SEVF and provide useful information for botulinum neurotoxin type A (BoNT-A) treatment. This retrospective study explored which calf muscles contributed to clonus in 91 patients with SEFV after stroke (n = 31), multiple sclerosis (n = 21), and cerebral palsy (n = 39), using selective DNB.

Methods: In this retrospective study, 202 cases (213 feet) of PCFD patients treated with SA from June 2015 to December 2022 were selected. General data and surgical information were recorded, and clinical efficacy was evaluated through imaging and clinical indicators.
