This report describes the first case, to our knowledge, of in situ mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) in the gastrointestinal tract identified retrospectively by immunostains and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analysis after progression to disseminated disease with pleomorphic morphology several years later. A 45-year-old man with blood per rectum underwent colonoscopy and had random biopsies interpreted as benign colonic mucosa. Two years later, he presented with ileocolic intussusception related to enlarged lymph nodes. Biopsies on the second presentation demonstrated widespread MCL. Reevaluation of the original colonic biopsies showed cyclin D1-positive cells within small lymphoid aggregates, confirmed by FISH for t(11;14). Postchemotherapy, lymphoid aggregates in colonic biopsies showed scattered cyclin D1- and FISH t(11;14)-positive cells, similar to the original in situ lymphoma. We discuss this case in the context of the current understanding of the evolution of MCL and the difficulties associated with detecting primary GI lymphoma.

Pediatric-type follicular lymphoma (PTFL) is an extremely rare B-cell lymphoma that primarily affects children and young adults, typically in individuals under 25 years old, with a median age of 15 years. Here, we report a rare case of PTFL in a 27-year-old adult male who presented with a slow-growing mass near his left ear. Initial CT scans of the neck revealed two oval-shaped, smooth, well-defined, homogeneously enhancing soft tissue density lesions in the superficial lobe of the left parotid gland.

Shell color is an important economic trait and one of the target traits in breeding and production. Non-coding RNA (ncRNA) refers to RNA molecules transcribed from the genome and do not encoding proteins, which can regulate the expression of target genes after transcription and participate in the regulation of many important traits, such as the formation of shell color and body color. In this study, we detected the porphyrins in the shells of three Manila clams with different shell colors, explored the expression pattern and function of Uroporphyrinogen III synthetase (UROS) in the shell color pigmentation of Ruditapes philippinarum, and found that it might be involved in the synthesis of porphyrins and potentially in the synthesis of melanin.

Background: Drinking water at US Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, was contaminated with trichloroethylene and other industrial solvents from 1953 to 1985.
Methods: A cohort cancer incidence study was conducted of Marines/Navy personnel who began service and were stationed at Camp Lejeune () or Camp Pendleton, California () between 1975 and 1985 and civilian workers employed at Camp Lejeune () or Camp Pendleton () between October 1972 and December 1985. Camp Pendleton's drinking water was not contaminated with industrial solvents.

Like many marine invertebrates, marine lucinid clams have an intimate relationship with beneficial sulfur-oxidizing bacteria located within specialized gill cells known as bacteriocytes. Most previous research has focused on the symbionts in the gills of these (and other) symbiotic bivalves, often assuming that the symbionts only persistently colonize the gills, at least in the adult stage. We used 16S rRNA gene sequencing and digital polymerase chain reaction with symbiont-specific primers targeting the soxB gene on the foot, mantle, visceral mass, and gills of the lucinid clam Loripes orbiculatus.
