Monodisperse nanospheres are formed by coordination polymerization tetrakis(4-pyridyl)porphyrin-metal complexes with chloroplatinic acid in aqueous solution. The porphyrin nanospheres and their platinized nanocomposites have potential applications in catalysis and solar energy conversion systems.

Although porphyrin modification can improve the peroxidase-like activity of some inorganic nanozymes, it is hardly studied that metal porphyrin self-assembled nanoaggregates as sacrificial templates to turn on the peroxidase-like activity of inorganic nanozymes under light illumination. In this work, cobalt (II) 5,10,15,20-Tetrakis (4-carboxylpheyl)porphyrin (CoTCPP) self-assembled nanoaggregates are firstly used as soft templates to prepare TiO-based nanozymes with the enhanced peroxidase-like activity. Interestingly, CoTCPP nanoaggregates can be changed into Co oxide nanoparticles dispersed into the nanosphere composites.

Two structural isomeric porphyrin-based triads (Zn(II)porphyrin-Sn(IV)porphyrin-Zn(II)porphyrin) denoted as and were prepared from the reaction of -[5-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-10,15,20-tris(3,5-di-tert-butylphenyl)porphyrinato]zinc(II) () with trans-dihydroxo-[5,10-bis(3-pyridyl)-15,20-bis(phenyl)porphyrinato]tin(IV) () and trans-dihydroxo-[5,15-bis(3-pyridyl)-10,20-bis(phenyl)porphyrinato]tin(IV) (), respectively. All the compounds were characterized using UV-vis spectroscopy, emission spectroscopy, ESI-MS, H NMR spectroscopy, and FE-SEM. Most importantly, the two structurally isomeric porphyrin-based triads supramolecularly self-assembled into completely different nanostructures.

Bimetallic hollow structures have attracted much attention due to their unique properties, but they still face the problems of nonuniform alloys and excessive etching leading to structural collapse. Here, uniform bimetallic hollow nanospheres are constructed by pore engineering and then highly loaded with hemin (Hemin@MOF). Interestingly, in the presence of polydopamine (PDA), the competitive coordination between anionic polymer (γ-PGA) and dimethylimidazole does not lead to the collapse of the external framework but self-assembly into a hollow structure.

In this study, two distinct photocatalysts, namely tin(IV)porphyrin-sensitized titanium dioxide nanotubes (SnP-TNTs) and titanium dioxide nanofibers (TNFs), were synthesized and characterized using various spectroscopic techniques. SnP-TNTs were formed through the hydrothermal reaction of NaOH with TiO (P-25) nanospheres in the presence of Sn(IV)porphyrin (SnP), resulting in a transformation into Sn(IV)porphyrin-imbedded nanotubes. In contrast, under similar reaction conditions but in the absence of SnP, TiO (P-25) nanospheres evolved into nanofibers (TNFs).

Combinational therapy in cancer treatment that integrates the merits of different therapies is an effective approach to improve therapeutic outcomes. Herein, a simple nanoplatform (N-CNS-CaO-HA/Ce6 NCs) that synergized chemodynamic therapy (CDT), photodynamic therapy (PDT), photothermal therapy (PTT), and Ca interference therapy (CIT) has been developed to combat hypoxic tumors. With high photothermal effect, excellent peroxidase-like activity, and inherent mesoporous structure, N-doped carbon nanospheres (N-CNSs) were prepared via in situ pyrolysis of an established nanoscale covalent organic frameworks (COFs) precursor.
