Objective: To generate the cancer stem cells (CSCs) specific protein CD133 polyclonal antibody for the study of the biological characteristics of CSCs in tumor tissues and CSCs screening for the mouse model.
Methods: The extracellular peptide of the human CD133 was injected into rabbits to generate polyclonal antibody which was used for glioblastoma(GBM) Western blot and immunohistochemistry.
Results: The CD133 antiserum we made could detect both overexpressed myc-CD133 and endogenous CD133 efficiently by Western blot. Immunohistochemistry indicated that the CD133 polyclonal antibody can label CSCs in GBM sections.
Conclusion: High efficient and specific CD133 antibody was generated successfully and could be used to label CSCs in tumor sections and screen CSCs for the mouse model.

Porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) is the primary causative agent of porcine circovirus-associated disease, clinically resulting in immunosuppression and co-infections with other pathogens in infected pigs. The mechanism of PCV2 infection remains unclear. In this study, we firstly found that the tetraspanin CD81 in PK-15 cells interacts with PCV2 Cap protein by using virus overlay protein-binding assay combined with mass spectrometry.

Pleural tuberculosis (pTB) is a diagnostic challenge because of its non-specific clinical features, lack of accurate diagnostic tools and paucibacillary nature of the disease. We, here describe the development of a novel magnetic nanoparticle antibody-conjugate and aptamer-based assay (MNp-Ab-Ap assay) targeting 4 different (. ) antigens (GlcB, MPT51, MPT64 and CFP-10) for pTB diagnosis.

Alpha-toxin of Staphylococcus aureus belongs to the pore-forming toxin (PFT) family, which can lyse red and white blood cells. In addition to the existence of the hla gene in the majority of S. aureus strains (about 95 %), higher expression exhibits enhanced pathogenicity to the bacteria.

Understanding antigen-specific T-cell responses is crucial for advancing immunotherapies and vaccine development. This study proposes a novel approach combining two complementary assays: the 5-ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine (EdU) incorporation assay (tracking proliferation over 0-48 h) and the VPD450 dye dilution assay (tracking proliferation over 4-6 days). Integrating these techniques provides additional insights into T-cell proliferation kinetics.

In homeostasis, which plays an important role in the proper functioning and maintenance of the internal functioning of the body, kidneys play a key role in being responsible for the proper homeostasis of glucose. Among glucose transporters, sodium-dependent glucose co-transporters (SGLTs) have a major role in the kidney's ability to reabsorb glucose. Although the localization of these transporters has been extensively studied in mammals, there are still gaps in knowledge of the localization of SGLTs in birds of different age groups.
