In this paper we report the fabrication and testing of diode-type low-voltage field emission display (FED) devices with SiC-nanowire-based cathodes. The SiC-nanowire FEDs (flat vacuum lamps) were characterized by low emission threshold fields (∼2 V µm(-1)), high current density and stable long-term performance. The analysis of field emission data evidenced that the Schottky effect would have a considerable influence on the field emission from nanowire-based samples, leading to the true values of the field enhancement factor being significantly lower than those derived from Fowler-Nordheim plots.

The present investigation aims to develop a reactive oxygen species (ROS) and esterase-responsive biodegradable mannosylated polyurethane to effectively deliver the encapsulated antileishmanial drug amphotericin B (AmB) selectively to infected macrophage cells. Owing to suitable amphiphilic balance, the as-synthesized glycosylated polyurethane () with aryl boronic ester-based diol () moiety as ROS-trigger, water-soluble mannose pendants, and fluorescent 4,4-difluoro-4-bora-3a,4a-diaza--indacene (BODIPY) chain ends for bioimaging formed nanoaggregates in an aqueous medium as confirmed by H NMR spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering (DLS), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and critical aggregation concentration (CAC) measurements. Aided by two endogenous stimuli present in phagolysosome, ROS and esterase, AmB-encapsulated polymeric nanoaggregates as drug delivery vehicles achieved an efficient reduction of both and intracellular amastigote burden compared to the free AmB.

High-resolution cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) requires costly 200- to 300-keV cryo-transmission electron microscopes (cryo-TEMs) with field emission gun (FEG) sources, stable columns, constant-powered lenses, autoloader, and direct electron detectors (DED). Recent advances in 100-keV imaging with the emergence of sub-200-keV optimized DED technology promises the development of more affordable cryo-TEMs. So far, 100-keV imaging has required microscopes with FEG sources.

For the first time, a TiCT-MXene and poly (3, 4-ethylenedioxythiophene): poly (styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT: PSS) composite-modified electrode has been developed for electrochemical detection of the bilirubin (BR) by molecularly imprinted ortho-phenylenediamine (o-PD). BR is a biomarker for liver-related diseases. High levels of BR imply liver dysfunction; hence, its exact and rapid measurement is indispensable to its immediate diagnosis and treatment.

Background: Leveraging non-invasive ultra-high field, 7 Tesla (7T) MRI, with increased signal-to-noise ratio and improved soft tissue contrast afforded by 7T allows us to accurately map tissue microstructure. We aim to use 7T MR Elastography (MRE), 7T Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI), 3T amyloid-PET, and Preclinical Alzheimer Cognitive Composite (PACC) score to determine the relationships between these metrics in a cohort of older individuals with either normal cognition (CN), mild cognitive impairment (MCI), or Alzheimer's Disease (AD).
Methods: 7T MRE, 7T DTI, 3T PET (Fig.
