The spray drying technique was used to obtain the roxithromycin containing microcapsules with high taste masking efficiency. Eudragit L30D-55 was chosen as a barrier coating. The taste was evaluated by an electronic tongue, and taste-masking effect in water lasted at least several dozen hours.

Pillararenes and their derivatives have emerged in supramolecular chemistry as unique macrocycles for applications in host-guest chemistry, materials science and biomimetics. Many variations have been conceived and synthesized in recent years and in this review, we relate progress in water-soluble versions: leaning towerarenes, extended-pillararenes, biphenarenes, helicarenes and octopusarenes. These are applied in targeted drug delivery, selective uptake and release of aromatic guests, fabrication of gold/silver and mesoporous silica nanoparticles, cell imaging, pollutant separation, biomedicine (e.

Peptide aggregation inevitably occurs during hydrolysis, and insoluble peptide aggregates (ISPA) are used as feed for animals due to their poor water solubility and unpleasant bitter flavor. Ultrasound was used to fabricate soy peptide nanoparticles by reassembling ISPA, followed by spray-drying encapsulation to develop low-bitterness peptide microcapsules with soluble soybean polysaccharide (SSPS) and stevioside (STE) as wall materials. Powder properties, bitter taste, and the morphology of the microcapsules were evaluated.

Chasteberry extract offers considerable phytotherapeutic benefits, particularly in alleviating premenstrual syndrome (PMS) symptoms. However, its hydroalcoholic nature leads to a bitter taste and a burning sensation, presenting challenges for direct consumption or incorporation into new food products. This study aimed to address these issues by encapsulating concentrated chasteberry extract using spray-drying with Arabic gum, followed by spray-chilling with vegetable fat as carriers.

Objective: The primary objective of this study was to determine pediatric prescribers' knowledge and confidence in identifying bad tasting liquid medications. The secondary objective examined the techniques used to mask the taste of liquid medications and whether any of the masking techniques recommended by prescribers were reported to be effective in children.
Methods: Nationally, health care prescribers were invited to participate in an online survey about medication tastes and masking practices.
