Background And Objectives: Gingivitis and periodontitis are common periodontal diseases that can significantly harm overall oral health, affecting the teeth and their supporting tissues, along with the surrounding anatomical structures, and if left untreated, leading to the total destruction of the alveolar bone and the connective tissues, tooth loss, and other more serious systemic health issues. Numerous studies have shown that propolis can help reduce gum inflammation, inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria, and promote tissue regeneration, but with varying degrees of success reported. For this reason, this comprehensive systematic review aims at finding out the truth concerning the efficacy of propolis mouthwashes in treating gingivitis and periodontitis, as its main objective.

Background: Neurovascular coupling (NVC), as indicated by a comprehensive analysis of the amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF) and cerebral blood flow (CBF), provides mechanistic insights into neurological disorders. Patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD) and hemodialysis (HD) often face cognitive impairment, the causes of which are not fully understood.
Methods: ALFF was derived from functional magnetic resonance imaging, and CBF was quantified using arterial spin labeling in a cohort comprising 58 patients with PD, 60 patients with HD and 62 healthy controls.

Aim: This study aimed to protect brain functions in patients who experienced in-hospital cardiac arrest through the application of local cerebral hypothermia. By utilizing a specialized thermal hypothermia device, this approach sought to mitigate ischemic brain injury associated with post-cardiac arrest syndrome, enhance survival rates, and improve neurological outcomes as measured by standardized scales.
Methods: A prospective, single-center cohort study was conducted involving patients aged ≥18 years who experienced in-hospital cardiac arrest and achieved return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC).

Background: Growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15) is significantly correlated with glycolipid metabolic disorders. Increased GDF15 levels are associated with obesity, insulin resistance, and diabetes as well as a poorer diabetes progression and prognosis. This is a prospective cohort study investigated the association between circulating GDF15 and diabetic peripheral artery disease.

Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is defined by heart failure (HF) with a left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of at least 50%. HFpEF has a complex and heterogeneous pathophysiology with multiple co-morbidities contributing to its presentation. Establishing the diagnosis of HFpEF can be challenging.
