Background: Total joint replacement (TJR) of the lumbar spine is a revolutionary procedure that couples the clinical benefits of neural decompression with preservation of natural motion and sagittal balance at the operative level. The TJR procedure involves reconstruction of the entire motion segment using a posterior bilateral transforaminal approach to access the disc space. The TJR implant (MOTUS, 3Spine, Chattanooga, TN, USA) replaces the function of the intervertebral disc and facet joints, performing biomechanically as a new articulation for the resected, degenerated disc and facets.

Rice black-streaked dwarf virus (RBSDV) is an etiological agent of a destructive disease infecting some economically important crops from the Gramineae family in Asia. While RBSDV causes high yield losses, genetic characteristics of replicative viral populations have not been investigated within different host plants and insect vectors. Herein, eleven publicly available RNA-Seq datasets from Chinese RBSDV-infected rice, maize, and viruliferous planthopper (Laodelphax striatellus) were obtained from the NCBI database.

Objective: This study examines the causal relationships between serum micronutrients and site-specific osteoarthritis (OA) using Mendelian Randomization (MR).
Methods: This study performed a two-sample MR analysis to explore causal links between 21 micronutrients and 11 OA outcomes. These outcomes encompass overall OA, seven site-specific manifestations, and three joint replacement subtypes.

This study aimed to examine joint trajectories of pain, depression and frailty and their associations with adverse outcomes. Four waves of national data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS 2011-2018) were used, involving 4217 participants aged ≥60 years. Joint trajectories were fit using parallel-process latent class growth analysis, and their associations with adverse outcomes were evaluated using modified Poisson regression.

Objective: The purpose of the study is to examine the relationship between osteoarthritis (OA) and joint symptoms typical of OA and labor force participation.
Methods: Data are from the baseline questionnaire of the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging for respondents aged 45 to 74 years at baseline (n = 24,427). Individuals were categorized into one of five mutually exclusive arthritis status groups: diagnosed OA, diagnosed other type of arthritis, two to three symptomatic joint sites and no diagnosed arthritis, one symptomatic joint site and no diagnosed arthritis, and no arthritis and no joint symptoms.
