Purpose: To evaluate the functional outcomes of surgical treatment for proximal hamstring avulsion injuries in patients aged over 50 years and to compare the results across another matched group of patients under 50.
Methods: This was a retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data in a matched case-control design targeting patients with proximal hamstring avulsion injuries who underwent surgical treatment at a sports surgery referral centre. Patients over 50 years with complete avulsion or partial injury (>2 cm retraction) were included.
Maternal nutritional status plays a crucial role in embryonic development and has persistent effects on postnatal chicks. Vitamin C (VC) plays an important role in embryonic and postnatal development involved in nutri-epigenetics. The present study was conducted to investigate the effects of feeding (IOF) of VC on embryonic development, egg hatching time, and chick rectal temperature.

Background: Human infection with is mainly manifested as non-gonococcal urethritis, where it can lead to cervicitis, premature rupture of membranes and abortion in women, as well as infertility in males, which becomes a major problem in clinical diagnosis and treatment. At present, real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR and culture are the two main methods for detecting UU. The real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR method is cumbersome and cannot accomplish absolute quantification on nucleic acids, while the cultivation method has limitations such as low sensitivity and being time-consuming.
