AI Article Synopsis

  • The compound C(9)H(10)N(2)O(2) has 13 non-hydrogen atoms that are nearly planar, with slight deviations influenced by oxygen atoms.
  • An intra-molecular hydrogen bond between the hydroxyl and nitrogen stabilizes its conformation, which features an E configuration around the N=C double bond.
  • Additionally, inter-molecular hydrogen bonds form between the hydroxyl and carbonyl oxygen atoms, creating a flat double-layer structure that stacks along the a-axis, facilitated by C-H⋯π interactions.

Article Abstract

The 13 non-H atoms comprising the title compound, C(9)H(10)N(2)O(2), are close to planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.140 Å), with maximum deviations of 0.292 (1) and 0.210 (1) Å to either side of the least-squares plane exhibited by the hy-droxy and carbonyl O atoms, respectively. The observed conformation is stabilized by an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond. The conformation about the N=C double bond [1.2909 (16) Å] is E. The hy-droxy OH group also forms an inter-molecular hydrogen bond to a carbonyl O atom, and the amine H atom similarly forms an N-H⋯O hydrogen bond to a second carbonyl O atom. The result is the formation of a double layer with a flat topology. Layers stack along the a-axis direction connected by C-H⋯π inter-actions.

In anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) repair methods, the continuous enzymatic erosion of synovial fluid can impede healing and potentially lead to repair failure, as well as exacerbate articular cartilage wear, resulting in joint degeneration. Inspired by the blood clot during medial collateral ligament healing, we developed a composite scaffold comprising collagen (1 %, w/v) and polyvinyl alcohol (5 %, w/v) combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP). The composite scaffold provides a protective barrier against synovial erosion for the ruptured ACL, while simultaneously facilitating tissue repair, thereby enhancing the efficacy of ACL repair techniques.

A new twofold interpenetrated 3D metal-organic framework (MOF), namely, poly[[μ-aqua-diaqua{μ-2,2'-[terephthaloylbis(azanediyl)]diacetato}barium(II)] dihydrate], {[Ba(CHNO)(HO)]·2HO}, (I), has been assembled through a combination of the reaction of 2,2'-[terephthaloylbis(azanediyl)]diacetic acid (TPBA, HL) with barium hydroxide and crystallization at low temperature. In the crystal structure of (I), the nine-coordinated Ba ions are bridged by two μ-aqua ligands and two carboxylate μ-O atoms to form a 1D loop-like Ba-O chain, which, together with the other two coordinated water molecules and μ-carboxylate groups, produces a rod-like secondary building unit (SBU). The resultant 1D polynuclear SBUs are further extended into a 3D MOF via the terephthalamide moiety of the ligand as a spacer.

We report a direct application of the molecular tailoring approach-based (MTA-based) method to calculate the individual hydrogen bond (HB) energy in molecular crystal. For this purpose, molecular crystals of nitromalonamide (NMA) and salicylic acid (SA) were taken as test cases. Notably, doing a correlated computation using a large molecular crystal structure is difficult.

Theaflavins, oxidation product of tea polyphenols, have demonstrated significant inhibitory effects on α-glucosidase, which is beneficial in alleviating hyperglycemia. This study found that the inhibition of four monomers of theaflavins on α-glucosidase was related to the presence of the galloyl moiety (GM), with IC values ranging from TFDG (0.26 mg/mL) < TF3'G (0.

This study aimed to investigate the structural characteristics of Stichopus horrens collagen (SHC), Holothuria scabra collagen (HSC), and Holothuria leucospilota collagen (HLC) and to assess the effect of transglutaminase (TGase) on their film-forming properties. The results indicated that the collagens from three species of sea cucumbers were type I collagen with a complete triple helical structure. The thermal denaturation temperature of HLC (34.
