A 37 year old woman with Marfan's syndrome underwent an elective gynecologic procedure. Mask ventilation was not difficult but initial direct laryngoscopy showed no view of the glottic opening. The patient's trachea was quickly and successfully intubated using a supraglottic jet ventilation technique. The technique provided oxygenation and ventilation during intubation and assisted intubation of a patient with a grade III glottic view. No hypoxia or barotrauma were noted during the intubation.

Introduction: Vocal distortion, also known as a scream or growl, is used worldwide as an essential technique in singing, especially in rock and metal, and as an ethnic voice in Mongolian singing. However, the production mechanism of vocal distortion is not yet clearly understood owing to limited research on the behavior of the larynx, which is the source of the distorted voice.
Objectives: This study used high-speed digital imaging (HSDI) to observe the larynx of professional singers with exceptional singing skills and determine the laryngeal dynamics in the voice production of various vocal distortions.

Introduction: Hypoxemia is a common complication of sedation. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of supraglottic jet oxygenation and ventilation (SJOV) in preventing hypoxemia during sedative procedures.
Methods: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that compared SJOV with conventional oxygen therapy in sedated patients were searched in five databases (MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure [CNKI], and Google Scholar) from their inception to March 2024.

Acquired subglottic stenosis is a common complication of endotracheal intubation in infants. The risk increases in trisomy 21, patients undergoing bypass surgery, and having gastroesophageal reflux disease. Less invasive endoscopic balloon dilatation of subglottic stenosis has become a more common treatment modality compared to open surgical technique.

Background: Nasal cannulas and face masks are common oxygenation tools used in conventional oxygen therapy for patients undergoing endoscopic surgery with sedation. However, as a novel supraglottic ventilation technique, the application of supraglottic jet oxygenation and ventilation (SJOV) in endoscopic surgery has not been well established.
Method: We searched six electronic databases from inception to January 16, 2024, to assess the oxygenation/ventilation efficacy and side effects of the of SJOV in endoscopic surgery.
