Background: Typhoid fever is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in low-income and middle-income countries. In 2017, WHO recommended the programmatic use of typhoid Vi-conjugate vaccine (TCV) in endemic settings, and Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance, has pledged support for vaccine introduction in these countries. Country-level health economic evaluations are now needed to inform decision-making.

Objective: To evaluate stakeholders' understanding and opinions of the International Finance Facility for Immunisation (IFFIm); to identify factors affecting funding levels; and to explore the future use of IFFIm.
Methods: Between July and September 2015, we interviewed 33 individuals from 25 organizations identified as stakeholders in IFFIm. In total 22.
On 13 June, donors to the GAVI Alliance will gather in London to affirm their commitment to fund immunizations in the developing world. At the meeting, participants will address the estimated $3.7 billion financing gap needed over the next four years to scale up childhood vaccination efforts to meet the demand forecasts for those countries that receive assistance from the Geneva-based organization.
