Impacts of climate change on storm event-based flow regime and channel stability of urban headwater streams.

J Environ Manage

January 2025

Tetra Tech, Inc., P.O. Box 14409, Research Triangle Park, NC, 27709, United States. Electronic address:

Due to the recent improved availability of global and regional climate change (CC) models and associated data, the projected impact of CC on urban stormwater management is well documented. However, most studies are based on simplified design storm analysis and unit-area runoff models; evaluations of the long-term, continuous hydrologic response of extensive stormwater control measures (SCM) implementation under future CC scenarios are limited. Moreover, channel stability in response to CC is seldom evaluated due to the input data required to develop a long-term, continuous sediment transport model.

Efficiency Analysis of Healthcare Systems in Latin American and Caribbean Countries: An Application Based on Data Envelopment Analysis.

Value Health Reg Issues

January 2025

Departamento de Ingeniería Informática, Facultad de Ingeniería, Universidad de Santiago de Chile, Santiago, Chile.

Objectives: Despite the increasing investments in Latin American healthcare, the corresponding improvement in population health is not proportional. This discrepancy may be attributed to the efficiency of resource utilization. This study used the data envelopment analysis (DEA) methodology to assess the efficiency of healthcare systems in 23 Latin American and Caribbean countries.

The objective of this study is to gain a better understanding of the not well understood egg-transportation mechanisms through the female reproductive systems of crabs. For this, Carcinus maenas was chosen as a model to study the cuticular epithelium underlying the cuticle of the vagina and the ventral seminal receptacle. This cuticular epithelium is investigated by performing histochemical and ultrastructural analyses of the epithelial cells.

Automated Classification of Cardiac Arrhythmia using Short-Duration ECG Signals and Machine Learning.

Biomed Phys Eng Express

January 2025

Electronics and Communication Engineering, Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hills, Doimukh, ITANAGAR, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, 791112, INDIA.

Accurate detection of cardiac arrhythmias is crucial for preventing premature deaths. The current study employs a dual-stage Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and a median filter to eliminate noise from ECG signals. Subsequently, ECG signals are segmented, and QRS regions are extracted for further preprocessing.

Combined feature of enhanced stability and multi-level switching observed in TiN/Ta2O5/Ag-NPs/ITO/PET structure.

Nanotechnology

January 2025

Department of Physics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, 800 Dong Chuan Road, Minhang Area, Shanghai 200240, Shanghai, 200240, CHINA.

Both stability and multi-level switching are crucial performance aspects for resistive random-access memory (RRAM), each playing a significant role in improving overall device performance. In this study, we successfully integrate these two features into a single RRAM configuration by embedding Ag-nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) into the TiN/Ta2O5/ITO structure. The device exhibits substantially lower switching voltages, a larger switching ratio, and multi-level switching phenomena compared to many other nanoparticle-embedded devices.
