The β,β'-bis(triisopropylsiloxy)phenyl-1,4-diisocyanide 3 and [Ir(Cp*)Cl(2)](2) were used for the stepwise assembly of the [Ir(Cp*)Cl] cornered molecular square [6](Cl)(4). Synthesis of the tetrakis(diisocyanide) bridged molecular square [Ir(Cp*)Cl(3)](4)(BF(4))(4) [5](BF(4))(4) followed by cleavage of the O-Si(i-Pr)(3) bonds of the diisocyanide bridges with HCl/i-PrOH led to an intramolecular attack of the liberated hydroxyl groups at the isocyanide carbon atoms with formation of molecular square [6](Cl)(4) featuring four dicarbene linkers.

The search for stable compounds containing an antiaromatic cyclic 4π system is a challenge for inventive chemists that can look back on a long history. Here we report the isolation and characterization of the novel 4π-electron tetrasilacyclobutadiene, an analogue of a 4π neutral cyclobutadiene that exhibits surprising features of a Möbius-type aromatic ring. Reduction of RSiCl (R = (Pr)PCH) with KC in the presence of cycloalkyl amino-carbene (cAAC) led to the formation of corresponding silylene 1.

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is prevalent in adults and is characterized by the accumulation of mature B cells in the blood, bone marrow, lymph nodes, and spleens. Recent progress in therapy and the introduction of targeted treatments [inhibitors of Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTKi) or inhibitor of anti-apoptotic B-cell lymphoma-2 (Bcl-2i) protein (venetoclax)] in place of chemoimmunotherapy have significantly improved the outcomes of patients with CLL. These advancements have shifted the importance of traditional predictive markers, leading to a greater focus on resistance genes and reducing the significance of mutations, such as TP53 and del(17p).

To clarify the effects of pervaporation and distillation on aroma profiles, the Sensomics approach investigated the aroma characteristics and key aroma compounds of Cabernet Sauvignon (CS) and Ugni Blanc (UB) grape spirits produced by pervaporation (UB-P, CS-P) and distillation (UB-D, CS-D). The results indicated that pervaporated grape spirits exhibited stronger floral and fruity aromas, while distilled grape spirits were characterized by more pronounced cooked apple and toasty aromas. Consumers preferred products with intense floral and fruity aromas and weaker cooked apple note.

Naturally aged microplastics (NAMPs) are commonly found in farmland soils contaminated with heavy metals (HMs), such as arsenic (As) and cadmium (Cd); yet their combined effects on soil-plant ecosystems remain poorly understood. In this study, we investigated the toxic effects of NAMPs and As-Cd on lettuce, considering the influence of earthworm activity, and examined changes in As-Cd bioavailability in the rhizosphere. Four experimental systems were established: soil-only, soil-lettuce, soil-earthworms, and soil-lettuce-earthworms systems, with four NAMPs concentrations (0, 0.

Metabolomics can describe the molecular phenome and may contribute to dissecting the biological processes linked to economically relevant traits in livestock species. Comparative analyses of metabolomic profiles in purebred pigs can provide insights into the basic biological mechanisms that may explain differences in production performances. Following this concept, this study was designed to compare, on a large scale, the plasma metabolomic profiles of two Italian heavy pig breeds (Italian Duroc and Italian Large White) to indirectly evaluate the impact of their different genetic backgrounds on the breed metabolomes.
