Introduction: Surgical gastric fundoplication is an effective treatment option for gastroesophageal reflux disease. In contrast to acid suppression, fundoplication nearly abolishes all types of reflux, acid and nonacid. However, in some cases lasting side effects of the procedure may overshadow its positive effects.

Esophageal diverticulum is a rare condition characterized by the herniation of the esophageal mucosa outside the esophageal wall. Here, we explore the prevalence of ED and its associated esophageal dysmotility. We also shed light on the potential impact of previous surgical interventions, such as Nissen's fundoplication, on the development of ED.

Objective: The incidence of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is increasing year by year, the clinical manifestations are complex and diverse, and the adverse effects of long-term use of proton pump inhibitors and gastrointestinal motility drugs have been of great concern in recent years. The effectiveness of tegoprazan in the treatment of GERD is still controversial. This protocol describes a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tegoprazan in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Background And Study Aim: Distal esophageal spasm is an uncommon esophageal motility disorder presenting with non-cardiac chest pain and dysphagia. The main goal of therapy is symptom relief with pharmacologic, endoscopic, and surgical therapies. Pharmacologic treatment is less invasive and is the preferred method of choice.
