Psychiatr Pol

II Klinika Psychiatryczna, Warszawski Uniwersytet Medyczny.

Published: August 2011

Aim: The aim of the research was to construct a questionnaire basing on the presently standing criteria of sexual dysfunctions and sexual disorders (according to ICD-10), that would enable the diagnosis of symptoms, as well as to verify its validity.

Method: 102 patients (46 women and 56 men, mean age of 32.09, SD = 10.29) of sexological clinics who declared they had symptoms of sexual dysfunctions or disorders were asked to participate and fill in the questionnaire which was later evaluated in a clinical study on the basis of ICD-10 research criteria.

Results: Results show that using the questionnaire enables the diagnosis of 100% of gender identity disorders, almost all sexual dysfunctions and disorders connected to sexual orientation. The sensibility and specificity of the questionnaire were also examined and proved very high.

Conclusions: The Sexological questionnaire for screening research presents with good validity, sensibility and specificity.

Background: Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a prevalent male sexual disorder, commonly associated with hypertension, though the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood.

Objective: This study aims to explore the role of Fatty acid synthase (Fasn) in hypertension-induced ED and evaluate the therapeutic potential of the Fasn inhibitor C75.

Materials And Methods: Erectile function was assessed by determining the intracavernous pressure/mean arterial pressure (ICP/MAP) ratio, followed by the collection of cavernous tissue for transcriptomic and non-targeted metabolomic analyses.

A comprehensive analysis of erectile dysfunction prevalence and the impact of prostate conditions on ED among US adults: evidence from NHANES 2001-2004.

The Second Department of Infectious Disease, Shanghai Fifth People's Hospital, Fudan University, Shanghai, China.

Background: Erectile dysfunction (ED) is characterized by the inability to achieve or maintain penile erection sufficient for intercourse. While previous research suggests a potential link between ED and prostate pathologies, the association between benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), prostatitis, prostatic cancer (PCa), and ED remains to be elucidated.

Methods: Data from participants (40-80 years, n=2225) were extracted from the NHANES 2001-2004 for this observational study.

Background: Cavernous nerve injury-induced erectile dysfunction (CNI-ED) is a common complication following radical prostatectomy and severely affects patients' quality of life. The mitochondrial impairment in corpus cavernosum smooth muscle cells (CCSMCs) may be an important pathological mechanism of CNI-ED. Previous studies have shown that transplantation of human adipose derived stem cells (ADSC) can alleviate CNI-ED in a rat model.
