Obesity is a global disease with epidemic proportions. Bariatric surgery or modified lifestyles go a long way in mitigating the vast weight gain. Patients following these interventions usually undergo massive weight loss. This results in redundant tissues in various parts of the body. Loose skin causes increased morbidity and psychological trauma. This demands various body contouring procedures that are usually excisional. These procedures are complex and part of a painstaking process that needs a committed patient and an industrious plastic surgeon. As complications in these patients can be quite frequent, both the patient and the surgeon need to be aware and willing to deal with them.

Introduction: Renuvion was the first FDA approved helium plasma device utilized for subdermal tissue heating to reduce skin laxity. The purpose of this study was to demonstrate that the use of Renuvion improves the outcomes, skin quality and reduces the edema faster after lipoabdominoplasty.
Materials And Methods: Patients with abdominal skin laxity after a weight loss of at least 20 kg, nonsmokers, without major comorbidities, with a minimum 2-year follow-up and standardized pre- and postoperative photographs were included in this study.

The gluteal region has become a rising area of interest in plastic surgery in recent years, as reflected in body contouring surgery trends. In this study, the authors explain what the arrow effect consists of and how to highlight it during a Brazilian butt lift or a gluteal liposculpture: liposuction of the sacral triangle, fat grafting of the upper gluteal quadrants, liposuction of the dimples of Venus and of the midline superficially to the spinal column, and fat grafting of the erector spinae muscles.
